The hotel stands in an excellent position in the town, with good views over the river and plenty of outdoor space. Check in was friendly and informative. However our recent staying was disappointing. Its been a difficult few years for everyone but in order to recover hotels need to be competitive and stand out above others in the area.We were in Room 22 which was a good size, with a clean and modern bathroom, but the bedroom area needs refurbishing. The furniture was "tired" and dated . Cobwebs, dusty skirting boards, dusty unfixed curtains didn't help. Attention to detail is so importantOur evening meal was good as were the breakfasts. This is a traditional historic hotel that could, with some basic refurbishment and good marketing be full all year round, as well as having returning customers.I don't like posting negative comments but I don't like seeing potential not being met.Breakfasr

Went for Sunday lunch. One of the best we have ever had anywhere. Great service. Lovely staff. Took our little dog with us as you can take her into the bar area. Chef even brought her a sausage. I love this place. We go when ever we are in Wales.

Visited for an evening meal with a group of 11 when camping. Great food great service, some nice vegetarian options also. Also best pint of bear I ve had for a long time. Everyone had a really good meal.

Stayed here for 1 night due to work commitments and I was happy with the service I received by the reception staff, the facilities are great and you get what you pay for! Great location and plenty of shops and food places about if you’re wanting to eat elsewhere. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

Overnight stay for the Snowdon Half Marathon. Room was okay but was near some very annoying extractor fans which kept humming away all night. Room was way too hot as well so needed window open. Shower was good. Bathroom was more modern. Food was very good and excellent value. Had the carvery before leaving which was packed with meat. Lasagne the night before was tasty and plentiful.

Hotel in a handy position for exploring the Conwy valley and its attractions, but plenty of scope for improvement. Comfy bed and smart en-suite, though a non-slip floor in the shower would be a good idea, and the rest of the decor needs attention with cracks in the ceiling and no fire exit route on display in the room. Evening meals OK, and helpful staff arranged for salad without onion. Cooked breakfast, though plentiful, was ordinary. No muesli on offer, we had to ask for jam, coffee was very weak and tasted like instant, and they forgot to bring our drinks and had to be reminded. There was some noise from passing traffic from about 7am but not so much that we had to shut the window. Our room was not well sound-proofed from guests moving in the adjoining corridors, but thankfully other guests were not noisy. And as with many hotel rooms there was no mirror close enough to a socket to be able to use a hair dryer while looking in a mirror

What a lovely hotel! Really quaint, unspoiled & obviously caters for their customers in an enthusiastic & courteous manner. Beautiful function room & quiet bars. Can't wait to return & sample their Sunday lunch!

Looks like it is a very popular hotel as we saw alot of people checking in while we sat having a drink outside in the sunshine 🌞 while taking in the views of the countryside and river. A good selection of beers 🍻 on offer.

Lovely 3 night stay, cosy room, lovely and warm, nice traditional pub food, generous portions, that goes for breakfast and dinner, glad we chose this hotel, really pleased.

We stopped into the bar after a. Cold winter walk. It was toasty warm with friendly staff. We only had sandwiches but they were fresh and tasty and our dog got some turkey and a bowl of water off the staff so she was very happy. Would highly recommend.
