The Galleon in Conwy

Greasy and soggy. I didn't eat the chips. I ate half the fish I used over six napkin to try and get the grease out. Yuk.

2 portions of chips and a large curry sauce equals a 20 min wait and its not a busy day. Chips were good and not greasy at all. Staff were friendly and polite

Very good even better now they are packaged in paper boxes at last the polystyrene has gone!

Very disappointed had haddock it was breaded not battered and looked a frozen one deep fried they do not specify this. Also stingy portion of chips and curry sauce and the coffee was like dishwater. A Shame as it was very nice on my last visit it can't be down to covid! Will not be returning.

Travelled from Chester on a very wet Oct afternoon to visit Conwy. We were very hungry and decided to stop here at the Galleon for Fish and Chips. It’s been a long time since we have eaten that type of meal.We ate in to avoid the weather. All we can say is that the Fish and Chips were the nicest we have ever eaten. Piping hot. Good portion and the batter was so tasty.The whole experience was helped by amazing friendly staff. Well worth the journey. I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again. In fact it’s on our return list for the spring. Thanks for a lovely meal and a very positive experience.

If I could give this half a star I would. We came to conwy for the day on the 23rd & we were really looking forward to some nice fish & chips as a treat after a long walk around and we hadn't had nothing to eat yet. Lots of people queuing outside here every time we walked past, so we thought it must be good if people are all queuing & the other chip shops were quiet. So we queued, ordered & waited for our order number to be called.... 45minutes later for a small cod, kids chips & a fish cake. We walked down to the front to find somewhere to sit, opened up the boxes & the fish cake was a tiny round breaded fish cake like you would give your kids from by birdseye. This should be advertised to tell customers this, as i've never been in a chippy that sells freezer bought fish cakes. There was nothing fresh or tasty about it at all. The fish was watery, unseasoned & tasteless & the chips tasted like the fat hadn't been changed for weeks. Both myself and my partner said it was the worst fish and chips we've ever tried and it all went in the bin. I ended up being sick after too. We also asked a couple about theirs, who also queued at the same time as us & they said they through theirs away too as it was disgusting.

One of the nicest fish and chips I've had. Service with a smile, waited for fish to be cooked and chips were delicious. Did our homework before going to Conway and the reviews were good, got to say they did not disapoint. Very good value for money and the harbour front is a 1 minute walk away with benches. Watch the seagulls, they'll drive bomb you for these tasty chips 😉

Taste is just OK and fresh. Busy restaurant in lunch time.But how do they use Starbucks cup for hot drink?

Great Fish & Chips restaurant at the corner of shopping street. Offers other selection such as sausage , pie and kids menu. You can takeout or dine-in. Fish is tasty and fresh. The mushy peas is a must. Great Friendly service. Very reasonable price.Free parking 1 hr limit along side street.
