The Gwydyr Hotel in Conwy

We went here for a family evening meal for 4 adults.Booking experience the evening before was great. They put themselves out to fit us in.Food was good with a good selection of dishes. We each have particular diet requirements. We all managed to find starters and mains which fitted and we enjoyed.Where we felt let down was with the waiter service which spoilt the evening. It felt impersonal, we had to chase for drinks orders several times and had to ask for the bill twice.

We went here for a meal. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. We ended up working outside because of a lack of tables indoors but patio heaters made it warm enough.The food was very nice and reasonably priced. Good vegan options, too for our friend.My main issue was being told there was a half hour wait for food and it was actually one hour before it came.I would much rather be told the worst so I can make up my own mind about how long I want to wait.We didn't have ours with us but it seemed dog friendly as well.

We have just spent 4 nights at the Gwydr. What a fantastic break. There were 10 of us in our party. I think it's fair to say that we all had a wonderful time here. All the staff have been so friendly(let us watch the England-France Womens Rugby match in what I would call the Snug!!). The rooms were very comfortable and bathrooms had good showers. We had a couple of evening meals here, and although very busy, the staff coped really well and all with a smile. Food was very good, good selection of beers and wines. Nice to see them supporting the local breweries. Breakfasts were good(fried bread) although you have to pay separately for the breakfasts. Parking at the back of the hotel could be a bit tight, but if full there is parking in the street at the rear of the hotel. All in all a splendid break. Just eaten roast pork on a Sunday eve. Tasted like heated from freezer and broccoli cooked to death. Service and wine good. Husband enjoyed his starter. V quiet in restaurant

One of the most quirky places I have ever stayed. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly and it's in a beautiful location. Breakfast was also really nice. Will come back

4th visit. Just stayed for another few days and amazing as always. Cannot fault this Hotel. Great accommodation, staff and service. The Welsh burger just seems to get better with each visit. Breakfast is outstanding and great quality, nothing is too much trouble. Would not stay anywhere else, already booked in for our next trip cannot wait!

Food awful! Nachos, salsa and cheese bad quality, Halloumi fries with undercooked batter, friend ordered cremated chicken wings and another friend grabbed a cocktail which tasted like 10 tonnes of sugar and made wrong! Might be a good place to stay maybe but not a good place to eat, food has been left and hoping we can get something at the chip shop!

Really lovely staff, ideally situated for various tourist destinations, small but perfectly formed carpark to rear although there is ample free parking across the road. Near to some lovely restaurants, didn't eat at the hotel but the food we saw looked good.

A lovely hotel full of character, quiet corners and a large dining room. Brilliant pianist and singer on Friday night. They interacted with the few people who were there. Really enjoyed that. I had a delicious evening meal. Big portions. Breakfast was good but had to pay extra and I couldn't get the WiFi to work. I would definitely stay here again.
