Shame we were rushing for the train otherwise would have stayed longer for other dishes and more drinks, even chill in the beer garden. But they were very helpful and gave us the fastest food option. Had fish and chips which came with good amount of tartare sauce and mushy peas. I had a lovely Snowdon Craft IPA. Both of which I forgot to photograph because we were thirsty from a weekend camp & hike and too hungry whilst rushing for the train.Love the decor and pictures dotted around. Worth a visit it you venture to Wales!

This is a pretty pub that is very clean, has a nice beer garden and some interesting beers on draft. However it was really let down by the food. I totally agree with one of the reviews below that mentions it didn't match up to older reviews. The prices are high, nearer Central London prices. I totally understand businesses have been struggling with COVID and cost rises. But the portion sizes are very small for the price. The cheese board was extremely small for the price. It also came with 4 bog standard Carr's crackers and when we asked for a couple extra they said we would have to pay for more. I wish I had taken some photos but I didn't.Found a much better food pub that did home cooked food with amazing home made sausages and real hand cut chips in Llanrwst Road.

Staff were nice. Was recommended to us but will not be returning 😫 had 2 plates of garlic bread - 1 was burnt and the other not cooked at all! The mains were slow but not worth the wait as my chicken breast was microwaved so much you could not eat the outside and had to scrape the meat from inside! The pie's crust was burnt so had to be left. It was only the veggie lasagne that was finished but again said that it would not be ordered again! I had a bad tummy that evening after that meal.

Lovely service and beautiful pub. The food was ok but nothing quite like we had read on previous reviews.

We were in Trefriw for my birthday, we went into the old ship armed with birthday cake. Barmaid was ever so friendly and was happy for us to share my cake amount the other customers. We went back the next night for food. This was excellent.....would make the trip there again to eat.

Managed to phone the same day to book a table and got a space for a couple.Easy to order at the bar, lots of choices of drinks and a good varied menu. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food. Prices of main meals work up from ~£13.

Called in at the Ship last minute as the Hilton wouldn’t accommodate us even though we were staying at the hotel and suggested eating outside as they were busy. Thanks to staff in the ship for making us welcome, the food was amazing, if you are ever in the area or the Hilton eat at the Ship as the food and the staff lovely, thank you

We popped in on our way through the little village. It looked like a quaint little pub and did not disappoint us. Such a cozy little pub!! It had so much history all around on the walls. We were fascinated to learn that there was actually a small shipping port at one point in time right outside the pub on the river Conwy, hence the name.

An excellent choice of a brief stopover on our way 'home' to Llanrwst. Happened on this ancient pub and enjoyed a good meal, good beer anf a good laugh. Its history is astounding. Look it up. Better still, pay it a visit. Highly recommend.
