If you’re looking for beautifully home cooked Sunday lunch then give the Dudley Arms a visit. Although we live on the coast the drive to the Dudley Arms is a picturesque one in amongst beautiful scenery. On arrival you get a warm welcome, attentive service and beautifully cooked food. We had a roast beef and toast lamb mix that melted in your mouth with delicious gravy and there was a range of desserts that were so delicious it was difficult to just choose one. We all had something different but everyone was as delicious as the next. The Dudley Arms also has luxurious accommodation should you wish to spend a few days exploring the wonderful surroundings. Will definitely try that next time.

Food and drink great, shame about the welcome and service.Arrived for the meal we'd booked, stood ages at the bar while the manager ran through his receipts, and when I finally interrupted was told to go through to the dining area. As there was no one there, no indication of where they would like us to sit, popped back to check - to be told that he was very busy but that he'd be with us soon 😐Think it would have been different if he'd acknowledged our arrival or been even slightly friendly.Food was great, but stuck in a room without any staff or easy way to get attention. Not sure why we weren't seated in the bar area, if that's where could be staffed.Food was good and generous, the beer delicious, but was a disappointing experience.

After years of walking by this pub, went in for a snack. My husbands steak ciabatta was really good and my smoked haddock gosh cake tasty. We ordered extra chips, they were so generous we only needed one dish. We decided to book for Sunday lunch. Well the food was outstanding. My cod with lemon and butter sauce cooked beautifully the accompanying veg, stem broccoli and park Choi cooked really well, still had that bite. My husbands chicken was succulent and again the veg cooked well. Many thanks to the chef for some lovely lunches. We will be back.

From a list of a few places to try, we decided to drive out to this place from Bala given the claims of a hearty meal on the website.Got there, looks nice, like a great village pub. Inside was clean.Choice of beers was poor - Carling, Guiness, Caffreys and a Porter - there was a local beer that was off that evening, but in terms of ale, that'd be the only choice. Had a Porter, not great, too cold and was like a watery Guiness, had a caffreys, quite a boring drink.Pub was cold, we had to give our coats to the kids - honestly was warmer outside. There's a few doors in the pub which were all open, wasn't the coldest of evenings, probably double figures but windy, so probably the wind that chilled the place, but sat still, it was cold.Food - had the staple Steak and Ale pie... claimed as "hearty" and from the pics on Trip Advisor, the pie looked a beast and its also recognised as a hearty plate filler. Hardly a plate filler... imagine a typical enamel single / small pie dish... Its that big. The pie itself was okay, quite bland if I'm honest, and genuinely I make much better at home and I'm no chef.Another one of our party had a sizzler, said it wasn't great but okay. The burger was apparently good according to my 12 year old and the fish and chips good.None of the kids complained, but did have to go to the bar to order their ice cream after waiting 10 minutes after the main plates were removed.I've given 3 stars as it wasn't bad, but wasn't good - it was okay. The chap serving us was really good, let us know about a delay and made sure we were okay with it, we ordered chips with the pie but it was served with mash, we told him we'd asked for the pie with chips, he went off to get them, so service wise couldn't fault, but the food could have been better.

Visited here as a last meal before heading home from holiday and for our sons birthday meal. From the welcome through to the goodbye everything was perfect! Staff were all very friendly and accommodating, even down to a water and spoon for the kids cuddly toys! Food was first class and at a really good price too! If you are looking for a friendly pub with great food then give this pub a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful country pub with amazing homemade food. We found this pub a year ago and have been desperate to return again, so we were finally able to last week. The food was as good as we’d remembered, large portions and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The H&S coronavirus directions were really clear (one way system round pub and loads of hand gel) so we felt really safe. Can’t wait to return again!
