We visited earlier this week whilst on holiday in the area, shorter wait than expected when fish was cooked to order, massive portion, lovely spicy curry, well cooked food and friendly staff. Definitely worth visiting again when in the area.

loooonng wait for food and not cheap,although to be fair,I'm a frequent visitor to Wales from the wirral and prices do tend to be cheaper at home,so I'm judging prices to what I would pay at home but staff are smiley and friendly and locals in the queue were smiley and friendly too.

Having recently moved into the area thought we would try this fish and chip takeaway.We ordered the homemade chicken curry with chips.Absolutely delicious!We will be back very soon!

Had misfortune to eat fish and chips from this place tonight. Absolutely disgusting and the WORSE fish and chips I've ever had!! To top it off, the woman who works there was sneezing all the time as she served food.I've got a very strong stomach but even I am close to vomitting. Chips stale and chewy and in a horrible oil that leaves a very bitter after taste that's disgusting. It's almost like having a fairly liquid/ soap like taste in your mouth. All this for nearly 8 pounds!! Honestly I am that disgusted that I think I will phone them tomorrow. The irony was that even though hardly anyone there, we had to wait for a very long time and thus I'd thought everything would be fresh!! How they can get any business is beyond me. AVOID!PS. The owner can't take the truth.The woman was sneezing all over the food. See how you single me out but look at the MANY negative reviews to your disgusting fish and chips and how long people have to wait. I've been physically sick because of your food. So instead of being abusive you should be sorry!! I am in my rights to contacttrading standards over this. It's not right what you are doing. I am considering coming in tomorrow and demanding my money back!!!! Learn how to cook fish and chips and not reheat them and cook them in oil that's gone off! And realize that it's meant to be FAST food and people don't want to wait half and hour as they could just be in their warm home cooking their own in that time!!!!! .......' I'm old enought, and know what good fish and chips are like,but unfortunatly they are not here in Ruthin !Last time for some reason I was given a generous portion one hole fish and a half.It was more quantity than quality.It was flat thin greasy ,and tasteless.Chips were the same,and after only two mouthfulls ended up in the bin !But there is a PLUS here,Iwould have the chips only with there excellant Chicken Curry,with lovely chunks of chicken in it.In fact the best chicken curry i've had.Also nice fried chicken legs and breast .I have rated on there f + ch performance only

What a find ! Fab fish n chips for 2 :) Although there was a wait, a queue speaks volumes, everything cooked fresh to order and OMG was sooo worth the wait.The loveliest giant fish portion in a lovely crispy batter and equally as giant portion of chips, beautifully crisp (which is a rarity).My only criticism was that the portions were a bit big! Ha Ha xThank you for a lovely tea :) x

Lovely traditional style chippy. Huge portions of well cooked fish and reasonable prices. There's always a queue outside this place and with good reason too. There can be a wait of 10-15 minutes during busy periods but food is always cooked fresh to order. Easily my favourite chippy in Ruthin!
