Llangollen Wharf in Denbighshire

Called in to wait for horse drawn canal barge had a mocha and a slice of caramel cake,took a little while to arrive but I must say it was really nice and the staff were very good

Anybody wanting to go their just be ready to forgo the whole afternoon for 5-10 mins of view which happens at the end of the trip (we did 2 Hours Boat trip to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct). A better use of time would be to explore the Llangollen bridge and river dee as their are lot of scenic places in the area. Go to Aqueduct by car or bus as it is only few minutes drive and have a walk on aqueduct and look at the beautiful landscape. Complete Horshoe pass and horseshow falls. Happy Exploring folks.

Great 2hr horse drawn barge trip

Lovely lively town. Plenty of places to eat.

Bustling canal side stop in Llangollen popular with visitors. Couple of little shops selling the usual touristy trinkets, but also information on the canal and local area. Cafe also selling ices etc. Slow service. Few outside seats.

Lovely place to visit, lot of nostalgia, take a barge trip down the canal either by propulsion or by horse drawn method and over the viaduct which spans the River Dee, with scone & afternoon tea. Llangollen Town is full of shops, cafes & restaurants to browse at your leisure and take in the views by the river which runs at the lower end of the town, picturesque in every way.

Great peaceful pretty and quiet narrow boat trip for 45 mins pulled by a small shire horse.So relaxing. Happy staff.

I've walked along this stretch of the Llangollen canal several times over the last few years and always enjoy it. Lovely views and always peaceful. For those with mobility problems it's still accessible. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed.
