Fox and Grapes in Flintshire

Nice dog friendly pub. We sat outside under the heated lamps and had a lovely meal.

We moved to hawarden two years ago just before the pandemic so didn’t get chance to try out the local pubs and restaurants today was the first time we decided to treat our self to some local sunday roast. How disappointed we are. We ordered gammon roast and a childrens gammom roast and chicken burger. The roast potatoes was rock hard not even a steak knife could get through them. Everything was cold except the vegetables the gravy was see through it was that runny. The chicken burger was a dark brown like it had been tripple fried. Ordered our little boy a chocolate brownie for desert. That was harder then the roasters. How do you get a chocolate brownie wrong. We did say it wasnt up to scratch and £4 was reduced from the £60 meal. Absolutely shocking will not return and will definitely not recommend. We never usually complain and the service from the waitress was not of any problem but the food was absolutely shocking

Great village pub really friendly locals and staff. Good selection of beers and although we didn't eat there what we saw coming out for customers looked really tasty.

Stayed at the local hotel St Davids, so we thought we would venture into hawarden for a couple of drinks,soon as we walked in we were asked “where’s your mask” which they have no right to ask,I didn’t want the whole pub to hear my medical history,we didn’t get a hello or welcome to the pub “WHERES YOUR MASK” so straight away made to feel uncomfortable ESPECIALLY as everyone else was walking around maskless?? Maybe they were the locals and have different treatment,who knows! Then told to leave at 10.30(Saturday night!)as they were doing ‘winter hours’ so we had 10 minutes to drink up,strange,i thought these places had lost loads of money during the pandemic so would encourage people to spend etc,obviously not the fox and grapes,will never set foot in the place again!! We went to the crown and liver up the road,not made to feel uncomfortable,very welcoming and friendly staff,we had a great night.

My first visit. Called in for a mid-afternoon coffee. It was empty! Clean, comfortable, and a good cup of coffee. I prefer pubs without a TV in the corner and a lower-volume music system, but it is welcoming and the staff friendly and courteous. VERY tricky entrance to the car park; you've been warned!

Had a great meal, really well cooked the southern fried chicken was amazing, moist and a decent spice to it. Always a lovely atmosphere

What an absolute pleasure to visit here. It is great to see pub be taken back to its roots after many years. The place has had a spruce up and the menu is of restaurant quality ! I am happy I have a great place to eat in once again 😁👌

Couldn't fault our experience. I believe the venue has recently changed hands and had a bit of a make over. There is parking altgough the passage is tight for the larger vehicle. As for the food... lovely. The price was very reasonable. This is a now a nice village pub servicing good pub food. We'll definitely be going back.
