Mash and Barrel in Flintshire

We booked in for dinner as they did not allow 'walk ins' the previous night. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks after about 10 minutes of thumb twiddling they arrived. We did have to wipe down the table when we sat down and the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day. The Guinness on draught isn't great, very watery. We didn't have a main food menu or our table and had to take one from a vacant table.Our drinks arrived and then we ordered food which took about half an hour. We expected a longer wait. The lasagne was very tasty and so were the chips that came with it. Spinach pasta ravioli was ok but swimming in oil. Our kids meals weren't the best. Chicken nuggets were tasty but the crinkle cut chips were chewy and not very nice. My kids didn't eat them.Staff were friendly and helpful but there just isn't enough of them. It was quite expensive as well for one course. A few things we asked for had 'run out'.The restaurant was busy and service was ok. A table beside us was cleared for a family but it was not wiped at all. Overall it was 'alright' and nothing exceptional. As the only sit down restaurant on site it could be a bit more accommodating for easier reservations.

Slow service, Day 1 we were waiting ages just to order and an hour for our food to come, only for the Spagetthi bolonese to come out dry as if it had been reheated.Tryed again for lunch, food was better this time but again its very average and a long wait time. Chips were just warm after they had just been given to us.Its grand if you have abit of time ect. but nothing special

Came here 3 times whilst staying on the caravan site that's attached to this restaurant and the first meal we had was in the evening and it was a waste of money, very disappointing and expensive. We had to send 1 of the meals back due to the quality & presentation and it came back exactly the same but with a bit of sauce added to the bowl which just made the meal sloppy and bin worthy and the burger buns were stale and crumbled when attempting to eat! But the staff were really helpful and very apologetic when they were challenged about the quality of the meals. Bill the shift leader at the time was brilliant in dealing with our issues and compensated us for our troubles with free drinks and a discount on our bill at the end of the meal which helped ease the sting of the evening! Now down to the visuals of the restaurant there were too many to keep track of but I'll run a few off. There were multiple chairs that were rather rickety, rips in the fabric, severely worn and in desperate need of repair! Tables were sticky and stained with various foods and unknown substances and for the prices of the food and drinks you'd expect a basic standard of quality when spending your time and money in any establishment. but for the other 2 times we visited we were pleasantly surprised with our meals which helped balance out the 1 bad meal we had so all isn't lost I suppose.

Had the lasagne. It was absolutely amazing .Nice glass of coke .the place wasn't to busy hadn't booked ,we wer allowed to pick a table .toilets accessible and for wheelchair users. Staff wer pleasant and helpful family played a game pool whilst waiting for food .very nice place

This is the only restaurant on site. Its OK, but not great. A decent choice of food, but the execution of it is substandard. They need more servers, there's 6 people serving behind the bar right now, but only 2/3 people taking orders and serving the food. The waiting time is bad and trying to flag down the staff is difficult, I do not blame them as they are run off their feet, I blame the management for not employing enough people. The food is expensive for what is a below average wetherspoons and the mojito cocktail tasted nothing like a mojito as there was no taste of mint in it at all.They don't clear your table when you've finished if you're still sat at it, even if you order dessert you're still left with your meal plates on the table, which is not good.The staff are lovely but they need more of them. Maybe less people behind the bar and more serving the tables as everyone is ordering at their tables.All in all its OK but certainly far from being great.

So went to the mash and barrel and ordered the bigger kids meal came out so small we as adults ordered fish and chips said they didn't have any so went for the hunters chicken and it tasted like it had just come out of a microwave and then 20 mins after they came out with fish and chips for another family so I asked the question how can they get fish meal and we didn't there answer was its what the chef puts on the till do tell me how that works won't go back there again

Perfect night, excellent food, welcoming staff, wholeheartedly recommend.

Finally got food after being seated for over an hour even though the place was at half capacity, at a push. When we did get our food it looked like it had spent an age under the heat lamps, with barely enough condiments on the table to mildly rehydrate it.30 minute wait for drinks too, there were no costumers at the bar! We had to harass the waitress to keep checking, breaking up her selfie sessions, to make sure our drinks hadn't evaporated before we got them!

Went in with an open mind after reading a few recent bad reviews. I should have listened! An hour wait for a sub par Wetherspoons mixed grill. I’d look outside the park if I were you.

Great food but not the cheapest with drinks. Be careful ordering afters as Ive found the kids cant stomach them. Good quality every mash and barrel eaten at, this one is no exception!
