Stamford Gate Hotel in Flintshire

Local to me so cannot comment on the rooms. Been a while since last visit but we love it. Main bar area has space between tables, nooks and crannies and plenty to look at.I am inclined to judge premises on the quality and cleanliness of the Loos ( it may seem weird) pleased to say they're spot on. Decking area top quality with views over the River Dee towards the wirral.Car park, all bedding areas and hedges immaculate.Staff are friendly and helpful. I was lucky enough to chat with the owner.Check it out, for a drink, meal or stay

Excellent pub,fantastic meals and friendly environment,all round five stars.

Ordered a pulled pork and cheese wrap just over a week ago, could not eat it. seemed to be full of a cheap cheese not much pork, very disappointing.

Food was delicious. Had to wait for some time for it to arrive.but once it did it was worth the wait .cant wait to go back .went on a Sunday and had the pork roast .3 of the family are vegan and they also enjoy their meals too.would reccomend to anyone

We booked a table for my Dad's birthday, 6pm for 6 people. We knew something wasn't quite right the minute we walked in. No one greeted us or told us where we were sitting so my mum went to the bar and asked. The lady then pointed to a table in the corner, which was not reserved, and we were expecting at least some sort of table cloth service in keeping with the recent renovations, but this was not the case. A waitress came over with the menus and took our drink orders (3 pepsi's, 2 largars, and a water) It took 10 minutes for the drinks to get to us. I also want to point out that it was not busy when we went. After 30 minutes of waiting for someone to take our food order, we decided to give up on ever receiving service, and decided to pay for the drinks and leave. Furthermore, whilst we were waiting for our food order to be taken, we could see the waitresses standing around, and even plaiting each others hair in full view of the customers. The drinks themselves ended up coming to £15, and before we left we made an estimate of the prices which came to a whopping £135 including starter and main for six people. Similar price to Plas Hafod in Mold, except here it apparently takes half an hour to even have your order taken. We ended up in Weatherspoons and decided to compare. The drinks came to our table within 4 minutes of ordering, the food after 10 minutes, and the bill came to £50. Waiters/waitresses were friendly and attentive. Glad we didn't stay at the Stamford as this would have been a huge disappointment to the night.

Popped in by chance. We had a warm welcome, fast service and really enjoyed the food. Would definitely go back.

Great food very good service nice and clean

Very poor food. The lasagne(although plentiful) was actually quite tasteless. A serious lack of seasoning. The scampi was good but only six pieces!! The chips were cold and some were even raw! Not an experience we would want to repeat or recommend! The side salad was lovely and better tasting than the lasagne. The staff were not over friendly either.

Booked for 2 people for Sunday dinner... I've not been here for years and nothing like i remembered but the staff were very friendly, very accommodating when we asked if it was possible for another table, food came out quickly and piping hot and tasted fantastic (well done chef 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻)Overall a lovely place and a great experience... ill be back again!
