The Lodge Inn in Flintshire

Ordered a Sunday roast for my wife and I, we where very disappointed.When it arrived it was cold so we sent it back to be heated up.It came back tepid apart from the gravy which was hot, a ploy to make the dinner feel warm. The roast potatoes where cremated " black" on the underside hidden from view untill turned over. Cabbage yellow/ green cooked maybe the day before. Requested a steak knife to cut through the very tough beef.The Green Lodge is a very pleasant pub in a great location pity the food was a completeletdown.

I live close-by so have been going there for decades. I enjoyed the food sitting outside in the sun but a few changes since I was there last.I had to pay up front, first for drinks, then later for main meal then again for desserts, because they have a policy of not trusting outside diners to open up a tab. I guess they've been stung a few times by runners.All orders are at the bar now and they no longer seem to take orders at the tables.When I called to book a table I couldn't get an answer so booked online instead and specified an outside (covid safe) table. When I arrived I was told they have a policy of not reserving outside tables, pity this wasn't mentioned on the web booking form.Only a handful of little things but I began to wonder how much importance they give to their customers.

Probably the worst fish and chips I've had in a long time. Loads of batter. The fish has zero taste inside. Will definitely not be eating it again here. Yet to try their other dishes.

Fantastic place lovely food, great staff and new menù

Great outside sitting area close to bar entrance. Friendly staff. Didn't try the food but what went past to other tables looked very good 🙂

What's the food like? Who knows? Turned up on time for a booked table. Sat for over half an hour without anyone even taking our order. The manager was quite dismissive when we pointed this out. Quite a few other people seemed to be sitting at tables in the restaurant with no food on them. We left. Won't be troubling the place again.This is the first time I've ever left a one star review about anywhere.

Visited for a family meal in December 2021, party of six.Greeted with a nice welcome from the staff, and the place was clean and safely laid out with a good amount of space between tables; with sanitizer available.We didn’t feel rushed at any point, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The menu was a reasonable offer and was priced as you’d expect. Food quality was okay.Would return if in the area again.

We have stayed here a few times now and can't fault anything. Clean rooms, good food, friendly efficient staff and a great location. One this occasion the hotel were experiencing problems with their boiler, but management arrived with sincere apologies and heaters for our room, we couldn't have asked for more or been better looked after. Amazing little place to stay.The staff are amazing the food is amazing. Honestly not a bad word to say! Two years running we have stayed here for a short break and easily going to make it a third next year!

Fantastic to see the Green Lodge open again, and a great effort by all the staff to apply the Covid rules without being intrusive and overbearing, the sun was kind and we had a great afternoon..Well done to all who work there.
