Becws Islyn Bakery in Gwynedd

Good selection of tray bakes and a few pastries such as sausage rolls, pasties, pork pies, various cakes and fresh baked bread. Shop looks like it has been extended to accommodate more local produce from ale and crisps to biscuits and bacon. Very busy, as people were clearly regular or knew about it from previous visits.I debated on the breakfast but settled for americano and choc croissant.A group behind me asked if breakfast was available. A grumpy guy in the kitchen replied saying something along the lines of 'depends if I can be bothered to make it'. The group looked confused and left. Another couple walked in afterwards and ordered breakfast, so not sure what that was all about!My croissant was good, the coffee was average and came in a takeaway cup despite me sitting inside, upstairs (which is also a quite large dining area with breakfast order area, depending on whether Mr. Grumpy can be bothered to serve it).I think this is a work in progress for selection of produce, interior expansion and customer service.Not bad, but could be better. Very good initiative with the recycling and reuse policy they have bought in. May need tweaking.

Been eating here for some time, but today the breakfasts were awful. Staff don't seem to be interested in being there.

Food good, could of done with 2 people taking orders, or table service as the layout of where the till is upstairs seems a bit crazy. I got bumped in the back with a tray and you have to stand too close to people eating whilst waiting to be served. Like the 100% recycling efforts though.

Lovely breakfast.Everything is compostible, plates, cups, tea bags, cutlery.What impresses me, is that it will actually be used on their farm, so it's not just a gimmick or sales talk. Nice food, friendly staff 😀

Poor breakfast served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Also paper cups. Not what I would expect from a traditional cafe! £20 for 2 breakfasts. Disappointed.

We loved going to the Bakery in Aberdaron for breakfast. It’s was homely and welcoming. To say we were shocked this week is an understatement.Used to get loose leaf tea in a china teapot with cups and saucers - now it’s a tea bag floating in a takeaway cardboard cup.Used to have china plates and metal cutlery - now plastic cutlery and paper plates.I have no problem paying £18 for two breakfasts. I do have a problem having to order my own food while the staff chat and laugh downstairs and having to put my plates in the bin afterwards.We ordered toast and plain bread arrived. The bacon was clearly microwaved whereas it used to be cooked in a pan.The eggs were poached solid not soft as ordered.To add to all this a “dog” was in a pen downstairs in the shop, which I would have thought was inappropriate for a food shop. However this dog continually whined throughout our breakfast really annoying!I’m a fairly easy going person. And go out of our way to support small local businesses as we run our own small business. So it is with great sadness I have posted this review.Until proper utensils, crockery and tea are reinstated We will have to travel to Abersoch for our treat of a breakfast.

Great little bakery with cafe. Simple and unfussy yet good quality produce .

Gem of a bakery. Me and my partner stopped off in Aberdaron and went into the bakery. Fantastic food. Bought some cakes, baps and coffee beans, bread and cakes homemade and fantastic. Waiting to try out the coffee. 👍

Tried lots of produce from the bakery over a couple of weeks, the granary loaf is exceptional as were the barm cakes, steak pies (packed with steak), Cornish/traditional style pasties, brownies and fairy cakes. Tried a local crab sandwich one lunch time in the cafe which was also really tasty. It is quite pricey but you can taste the quality in the produce. A must visit.
