As brilliant as always: good food, good service, and good venue. Always willing to meet unexpected requests the staff are a pleasure to meet

Such a lovely experience, as a vegan it was amazing, with lots of options and beautiful cakes, but the real star of the cafe was the staff. Just brilliant, kind, funny and couldn't do enough to help. I'll 100% be going back and will tell everyone I know to go too! A massive thumbs up from me and my family.

Fantastic! Welcoming staff. Food delicious, vegetarian/vegan option. Loved the decor of the cafe and vintage cutlery.

Oh man, wish we'd read reviews before we came...! Unlike some of the others reviewers, we found the staff were friendly and attentive! But never paid so much for such a rubbish lunch. Like others we also paid over the odds for "not to be sold separately" ice creams too. Won't be going back. Such a shame.

I frequent Black Cat Cafe a lot as it’s local to me and the food, service and staff are just amazing and I love the family run friendly atmosphere. I always leave with a smile on my face and a handful of delicious homemade cakes to take home. I was appalled to read a very rude review previously and probably a reflection of that person rather than this lovely cafe. I would highly recommend a visit and encourage anyone to come and soak up the friendly atmosphere and service here. Little ray of sunshine in gorgeous grounds. Let’s support local businesses especially in the hospitality industry, in which has been a very tough 18 months for all involved and who keep smiling and serving us all.

Visited the park with my husband and two children a couple days ago and came across the cafe. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We ordered 2 kids meals, a lasagne and a panini- the kids meals were presented really well, and even included a couple treats which pleased the little ones! The salads that came with the meals were beautifully presented, and the coleslaw was the best I’d had in a very long time! We also ordered a couple deluxe hot chocolates which looked and tasted fantastic, and some strawberry & raspberry specialty tea which was lovely. The food and drink was worth every penny and we will definitely be visiting the cafe again!

Over priced and a very rude member of staff made it memorable for all the wrong reasons. After a 50 minute wait for Soup and a basic sandwich with no explanation or it’ll be a “long wait” when we ordered we finally asked a member of staff why after 50 mins we were still waiting, to be told “if your not happy why don’t you leave “ as well as a lesson in how long it takes to prepare food because they only have one cook. ( but 5 serving staff for 9 tables ) . The lady was so aggressive and just didn’t know when to stop , blaming us in a very loud voice across the restaurant. When it arrived after 55 mins , the. food they served was basic and very overpriced. My daughters sausages were burnt.! When we left we were called “arrogant” and “ you’ll never please people like that” by a lady who appeared to be the manager. Prior to me complaining, another customer had a run in with the same rude person I encountered.I’ve been in many places in my life but never been treated so badly , rudely or with such agresssion . We will never return .

Difficult to order and hear the staff because of the loud music. Sandwiches are unreasonably expensive, and the accompanying "full salad and crisps" consists of a pinch of salad and two, yes, TWO stale tortilla crisps. We heard many other customers comment on this too. Service incredibly slow. Tables and salt/pepper mills are not cleaned properly between customers (our table was not even wiped), the outdoor chairs were dirty and left huge black marks on the backs of our legs. 3 star food hygiene rating. Take a picnic, it'll be cheaper, better quality and more enjoyable.

Called for an afternoon tea and a sausage sandwich with chips. I must say the food & presentation does not reflect on the expensive prices charged. The bread slices were far too thick, filling was minimal lacked butter or spread & the chips were dry. Only good thing was the tea & very pleasant young lady who served us.. Off our list of places to call for to eat..

The quality of the food and tea was excellent, lost a star as we ordered sandwiches, waited 1hrs 40mins.Don't get me wrong the Food was lovely, the weather was lovely. But if you want a quick bite to eat, go somewhere else. When our Sandwiches finally came, we had to ask for more Tea, as we had drank our Original Pot of Tea.When we paid the Bill they did apologise for the wait, but I think the Staff despite being friendly and polite need to be given dedicated roles to avoid long waits for their Customers
