An excellent evening, food was outstanding and so was the service, an exceptional young lady called Georgia ( sorry if I’m wrong I’m terrible with remembering names ) was so kind and friendly. She made the restaurant feel comfortable and warm. Owner was also friendly & welcoming. Also discovered they have a bar if you fancy a few drinks after your meal, was small but very nice, topped our night off perfectly. Thank you all for a great night xx

Castle Cottage Restaurant is FABULOUS! Every element is set in place to provide guests with a wonderful culinary night out. The warm friendly greeting at the front door made us feel so welcomed; the attentive professional service throughout our meal was first class and every course we ate was super DELICIOUS...It was my birthday night out and I was surprised to find our table decorated and a gift of chocolate waiting for me! After our meal, before coffees the staff presented me with a creme brulee lit up with a candle and they sang Happy Birthday...I was really touched by this kindly attention to detail....If you ever visit Harlech please treat yourself to a visit to Castle Cottage you will absolutely not regret it! We will definitely be returning and recommending this wonderful gem to all our family and friends. Thank you Pattra and Darryl.

We live locally to Castle Cottage Restaurant and went for a Birthday celebration dinner. Patra and her team were fantastic hosts, they had decorated the table and made us feel very welcome. Food was delicious. Definitely a 5/5 from us.

Disappointed after reading all the reviews about the amazing food, it was not. I had meatballs and pasta. Food arrived piping hot and meatballs were tough, like it had just been microwaved. Pasta was undercooked even for al dente, sauce was no better than anything from a jar, can do a much better job myself. Eaton mess was exactly that, too much fruit compote mixed with cream, not enough meringue. Overall not a good experience and wouldn’t even consider returning.

What a great place. Owner Darryl will make you feel welcome. A stunning location with excellent views. The castle can be seen right out the window, brilliant views towards Snowdonia national park. Beach is a very short drive or a pleasant walk. A train station at the bottom of the hill. Harlech boasts the world's steepest street, although it's debated, it's definitely the steepest in UK. A handful of restaurant and take aways, small shops etc. I've stayed here twice now, rare for me, and I will definitely, hopefully stay again. As I write this, the restaurant and main house are being refurbished, I look forward to trying a nice meal and a pint next time. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

Excellent local fare cooked to perfection with a top notch wine list. The owners certainly know how to please the palate. Gourmet yet a down to earth well thought out menu with friendly "home style" service. We also stayed the night in a beautiful well appointed room that mixed 400 year old charm with modern convenience. Bravo! Hope to be back soon.

Situated at the top of the steepest Street in the world, Castle Cottage does not look like your typical restaurant and you could walk past it twice before realising it is the restaurant you are looking for. Looks, however, can be deceiving and the food inside is great and is a must of you are staying in the Harlech area.We opted for the 5 course taster menu for £45 which is great value for money and the food tasted great. You begin the meal experience in the bar with the canapés which all tasted good, especially the mini scotch egg and truffle flavoured popcorn. The fresh pea soup was accompanied by a fantastic flavoured Croque Monsieur Finger. Next was the Lemon Sole, King Prawn Linguini which was cooked to perfection.Being in Wales, one of the course had to contain lamb, and for the main we were treated to 2 lamb dishes, some amazing lamb cutlets and also some Cottage Pie (tasted great but felt out of place on the dish). For dessert we had Summer Pudding, it's not something that I would personally pick from a dessert menu and having already eaten quite a bit, I felt it was quite heavy, even though it can't really fault the flavours. This was followed by a cheese course, which after the summer Pudding was too much for me.All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant, if I returned to the area, I would certainly return. Its best to book in advance to avoid disappointment. In regards to the service, I was very happy with it, the lady in charge was very busy as she was the only member of staff in front of house. She was happy to leave us to our meal and was always on hand if we needed anything.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights here. We were met with a friendly greeting and shown to our room which was beautiful very tastefully decorated. We ate both nights in the restaurant and could not fault the food or the service. We would highly recommend this place and hope to return.
