Golden Cod in Gwynedd

3 stars, could have been 4. Great fish and chips. But customer service not friendly. The girl serving was ok. Miserable guy cooking was just that, not friendly, didn't say hello, in fact looked at me like I was inconveniencing him by having to cook

Excellent food. Service good. Had to wait a long time, but sure it was fresh cooked.

This used to be a very good chippy but I bought fish and chips there tonight and it was a miserable experience. Surly staff with no conception of customer service. The fish was dry and unappealing in a soggy batter, the chips limp and lukewarm and I had to wait ages for them. I only managed to eat less than half of it and binned the rest. Worst of all, the customer side was filthy and grim. Just hope the kitchen side isn’t like that. Been going there occasionally for many years but never again. Sorry to have to say all this but it’s just how it was.

Slow and didn't get the order right, didnt realise until we got home. Food is average. Been there a few times over the years and I would say it's declining, probably time to find a new place.

Had a large kebab and chips, it was very tasty, cost £8.50 for the lot, which may seem a tad over standard but the portion sizes more than make up for it, service was quick and the seating outside the shop was goodOverall, definitely worth going

Fish pre fried and dry, chips ok only, reasonable portion size. On my visit they forgot to provide mushy peas which I ordered. I couldn't be bothered to go back in due to the overall experience, I figured the peas wouldn't be up to much anyway.

Never tried the fish there. But the chips are classic seaside style (fish and chips) chips. i.e. very nice.But the jewel in the crown for me is the other side of the takeaway where they make Kebabs. The tandoori chicken kebab served in a fresh handmade, homemade naan bread that comes with your choice of fresh salad and variety of sauces is probably as good as they come!

Service seemed a bit disorganised. Average chips (lots of little crispy ones). Decent sized piece of fish but quite thin. Enjoyed the mushy peas! The takeaway did not look very clean which was a little off putting! (Was starving though so still got food!) Note it's Cash only.

Waited over 30 mins for simple dishes, 4 x sausage and chips plus 1 fish. Chips were under cooked, sausage tasted like they were past sell buy date ( went in the bin )and fish was so thin and tastless it was more like eating plain crisp, staff not very friendly and didn't seem to know what to do or how to serve the public with manners.Only went there cos it was nearest but will drive the extra milage next time.Won't be recommending this place unless I have an enemy lol

Absolutely terrible. The chips were old, you could taste it. I don’t think the oil in the fryer has been changed since we were scared of the Y2K bug. No gloves were used whilst handling food. I don’t think a health inspector has ever walked through the doors. If they did…… would be shut down straight away
