Lovely food! Sunday carvery was amazing! Plenty of choice for veg and the puddings were yum!Play park for children also fab!Big plus is being able to bring the dog - not only can dogs be outside but there’s also an indoor section where dogs are permitted.Setting is fab as well but that’s to be expected in the Snowdonia National ParkOnly downside was the rather slow service. Ordered using the online app, no problem with getting the main (sunday carvery) but when wanting to order the puddings the servers just wouldn’t turn up despite us asking twice. In the end had to go to the bar to order even though it was table service.

Came for dinner with friends. Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. Wide range of menu choices and very helpful, friendly, young and enthusiastic staff who couldn't do enough for us.My only teeeeny comment would be that we weren't sure who was 'looking after us' as we had three or four different staff members throughout the evening so it was hard to know who to ask, we didn't want to pester the wrong person!

My partner and I had a very pleasant three night stay here. There is nothing at all modern about Oakley Arms Hotel which was appealing to us but may not be to anyone that needs luxury. We stayed in room 9 on first floor at the front, glad we took earplugs as the road outside is busy and noisy particularly in pouring rain.Comfortable bed and sitting chairs.Very spacious, warm room.Electric card is attached to your door keys that you'll need to pop into the box on the wall to power lights, plugs etc.Automatic airfreshners in the corridor outside room that could be a problem for Asthmatics as it seeps under the door and into room throughout the day and night, quite strong floral smell.Good tea, coffee, water, chocolate selection with kettle and hair dryer provided.Clothes horse airer in bathroom for wet clothes.6 fixed coat hangers in wardrobe.Cooked full English breakfast was super hot and super tasty, nice choice menu and cold trolley selection.I tried Welsh Breakfast with Laverbread and Cockles for the first time ever and thoroughly enjoyed it.Lunchtime and evening meals were all super tasty and huge portions. Two small drinking bars with efficient staff.Pool table and lounge area.Outside seating with large kids play area and family table area too.Cottages at the back of the hotel offering 1, 2 or three bedroom self catering cottages. All staff worked hard to make us welcome and we appreciated our broken shower handle being fixed super fast after mentioning it to a member of staff on the first morning.Beautiful scenery all around.Great for hikers, walkers or cyclists and handy to stay at if like us you are working at or attending workshops or events at Plas tan y bwlch up the road. We're looking forward to going back again in September, so yes I'd definitely recommend a stay here if you're looking for a nice comfortable Welsh welcome.Thank you team Oakley 👍

We went for Sunday carvery. The table was booked but we were put in the bar area which meant we were forgot about. Sat waiting ages for the food order to be taken, which was frustrating as we went to the bar and they sent us back to the table and told us they take the order there.Food was not cleared, had to call someone over for the desert order (we paid for the 2 course). The desert came before the table was cleared. The food was really nice, there was lots of servers and I felt there was no reason for us to be forgotten like that. Should consider zoning so people are not forgotten.

Third time of visiting this nice little Inn. (24th April 2022)We had a Sunday Lunch Carvery and I have to say its one of the nicest I've had. The staff are friendly and helpful. I always book a table as this gets you seating at the point closet to the Carvery.. You have two options of a 1 course or 2 Course Cravery. The difference being a sweet. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the gents toilet need a bit more tic, in my humble opinion.

Nice and effective waiting staff, got a table even though we were almost an hour late for our reservation. Food was good for price. Would recommend going.

Called for a meal on way back from Porthmadoc to Stoke.Food was lovely, service was great. Staff very friendly and helpful, as 7 of us, and we hadn't booked. Found us a table, that we could have for 2hrs, as was reserved for 19:00hrs.Will defo be calling in again👍

Food was really good, with great presentation and at a very affordable price. but shame the service let the place down really. No check back at all with our table. Waitress just kept walking past whilst even passing our table to serve another, but yet didn’t acknowledge us. I would have given 5 stars if not for this.

Stayed and ate here and enjoyed it very much. Everyone who worked there was friendly and cheerful, my partner particularly enjoyed how they would speak Welsh first before speaking English. Made us feel like we were well and truly in Wales.Room was huge, bathroom also huge and it was clean and well maintained. Very pleased with the room.Dinner and breakfast were great, portion sizes as generous as the room, well prepared and tasty. Less than 15 minutes from Portmeirion so you can get there bright and early to avoid the crowds.Thank you Oakeley Arms, I’d happily stay again.
