Loved It Great Beer! We Sat outside in the sun for 3 hrs watching the trains! Great indoor Area as well!

·

Popped in for a quick beer before the train departure, nice spot, comfy seating .

This was instead of trip to Snowdon due to not being able to get to the top. Alterations and railworks and no facilities halfway up. This was great trip by steam train part way around lake with enough time to visit slate museum afterwards. Scenery is spectacular with reflections of the mountains in the lake. Seats are wooden and hard so take a cushion if you can. Didn't eat there.Loved the trip

Lovely setting for this bar/cafe even if you're not a train buff. Sat with a coffee or a beer on the platform is a little bit like going back in time. The interior is traditional and very cosy. And yes it is nice to see the old steam engines in their new life.

A wonderful preserved rail heritage centre. Superb locomotives with era carriages to match. If you love history or Victorian engineering and a superb ride through beautiful countryside this is the day out for you

·

Clean ,plenty of seating inside and out. Drinks were nice .shame that staff serving seemed more interested in talking between themselves . Toilets are on platform very clean .Can sit on benches outside and watch various engines pulling the carriages or of course CA.n book to go on one which is fabulous

Stopped by last night. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good selection of drinks. We had lasagne as we did not want chips. The waitress bought out the food and the bowls were really hot which is a bit of a red flag to say it has been microwaved. It had been microwaved to death with a large burnt hard lump in the centre of the dish with the rest just a rubbery burnt stodge around this black lump. We ate what we could but my wife left over half and l left about a third. When the girl collected the bowls we told her about the poor meals . She apologised and said she would tell the chef.We felt it was just a poor meal so decided to have a dessert, we had bread and butter pudding with custard The desserts came in hot bowls again and yes they had been microwaved, not to death but just a rubbery and lumpy mesh. It was hard work trying to eat it with a spoon as we really needed a knife and fork. We should of left it but as we had paid over ÂŁ30 for our 2 courses and were still hungry. We will probably call in again for a drink but will not be eating there.

A gem in the middle of porth, couldn’t fault the food, it was absolutely delicious, I had the steak burger and my partner had the steak, burger was so flavourful and juicy, and his steak was cooked perfectly. Limited menu would be my only critique. But I’m not sure if they update there menu regularly. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful atmosphere, service, food and value, with well kept Purple Moose bitter. We had struggled to find anywhere to eat on New Year's Day. Had we walked through here after our train journey, we'd not have wandered elsewhere. Staff so friendly and patient, and food was served in good time and was delicious. Great start to the year all in.
