Visit on many occasions before but this year the food & service greatly improved. We visited for lunch, the food was top notch pub grub & large portions.

·

Really nice food and not too expensive. Staff were really nice.

Was considering eating here, but after seeing two staff members pet customers dogs, then handle food plates, condiments, and in one case carry on cleaning tables, all without washing their hands at any point, decided not to. One big dog had it's jaws slobbering on the table, another was licking the high chairs for kids.Should be better awareness of cleanliness standards even before covid. Dogs are not clean animals. I would always wash my hands after touching any animal, cat, bird, guinea pig etc, before handling food and serving customers.Pints were OK, but not cheap.

Exceptional food , good service and very friendly staff, Oh and the draught cider is excellent.

·

Delicious bits n Bob's, with our gorgeous drinks. Grat service definitely recommend.

We had a quiet early evening drink inside with our dog warmly welcomed. The bar fella was very friendly and polite. The drinks were expensive for a Northern lad. £5.90 for lager.

Considering the varying reviews, we didn't have many expectations about the place but it was a cold, rainy day in December and we were hungry. We were really pleased with our meals. They were served on piping hot plates. All well cooked and staff were really pleasant and chatty. Maybe chunky chips instead of fries to improve? Good pub grub :)
