Tafarn y Gader Tapas, Bistro & Bar in Gwynedd

Been to Spain numerous times and yet.... This is the best Tapas we've ever had.Oh my days, the Ox Cheeks were incredible. Would happily drive 5 hours back here just for a few plates.10/10... well done.

Delicious authentic tapas without being generic - some distinctive dishes.Very friendly and excellent service. The host accommodated our request to eat in the lovely, peaceful courtyard garden, despite everyone else eating inside that evening. He even put the patio heater and music on for us.Very good value - around £18 each plus drinks.Will definitely come back and would highly recommend.

We came here as a table of four and we were absolutely thrilled with the level of service and quality of food. I simply cannot recommend this place enough. Book in advance, as this place gets busy for a good reason

Whilst the welcome was warm, mostly everything else was disappointing. The food was flavourless. Duck breast skewer had no discernable taste. The rib eye croquettes were gloopy (can't imagine how you coat something so runny in breadcrumbs). Had to order another dish to make sure we were reasonably filled. When the lady taking payment asked how was the meal, she was most disgruntled when I mentioned it was flavourless. 'Flavourless! We've served 100 meals this week without anyone saying that' (actually, the table next to us had said exactly that to the waiter 10 minutes earlier). Maybe our expectations were too high for a place advertising the fact that it was 'The Food Awards 2022 Wales' winner ...

The welcome was warm and the staff were truly lovely and fitted us in when we didn't have a reservation. The place has a rustic charm but sadly for me the food was average and a tad expensive for it. I ordered a varied selection of tapas dishes, the squid which I regret not sending back and asking them to heat up. The bravas potatoes, manchego cheese bites, chicken teriyaki and fish and chips were all alright and filled hungry mouths but nothing amazing. The real gem here is the service and sadly not the food.

Warm and welcoming staff. Tasty, authentic tapas food in good sized portions. Reservation is a must. Would definitely return if in the area again

The tapas here are exceptional, possibly the best we have ever had. The portions are generous, four adults can be well fed & watered for less than £30 a head so it's superb value. We love the ambience of the restaurant, the staff are friendly, professional & welcoming. Come & give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Delicious food, 5 of us all had tapas, all the dishes were so tasty and well presented. And as for the desserts they were so good and all homemade. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Amazing food and brilliant staff, I'm spanish and always wanted to try the food here coz the spanish influence in their cook, oh wow!!!! Beautiful food!!! Me and my friend had an amazing night, they absolutely love tapas!!!

Incredible meal, food was fresh and flavourful. Would seriously recommend visiting and trying the tapas on offer. Great value for the quality of food on offer
