Classic old pub atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and the portions of food are more than enough! Bryn Bara was very nice and very filling - couldn’t finish it!

Excellent selection of bar meals, freshly prepared and generous servings. Dog was made to feel welcome. Good local real ales available. Glad we found it under "dog friendly pubs".

I walked here and it was a great place to stop and enjoy lunch, whilst resting those aching legs. The lamb shoulder was perfect; just a shame it's not near to where I live, I'd be here every weekend.

Wonderful gem of a place, friendly owners ,very dog friendly, and the food ,wow,never tasted lamb so beautifully cooked,the wine was excellent too,will look forward to a return visit

Very friendly pub in the Welsh countryside on the banks of the river Dee that serves lovely meals and a good variety of beers, also good for a stay over with reasonable prices.

A fantastic find. Accommodated a table of 7 of us for lunch half an hour before lunch was due to end. A really warm welcome from the owners who we all had a really good chat to whilst deciding what to order.The food was delicious and portions very generous. Particular highlights were the Bryn Bara (a delicious beef casserole served in a bread loaf) and one of the best treacle sponge puddings we've had.It's great to see a village local pub doing well following Covid. A credit to the owners!

A good place to hunker down during a storm. We had some nice pub grub, burgers and the Bryn Bara (see pic), and played pool and darts. Owners and staff were friendly and laid back, and they had a very cute old cat. The interior was a little dated, but clean, and it must be difficult financially after covid. We'd recommend.

This is a fabulous pub in beautiful countryside. If you are looking for a really good home made Sunday lunch this is the place. It is off the beaten track, but worth making the effort to travel to. The drive, whilst on narrow roads provides stunning views of surrounding countryside.Staff are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and a big thumbs up for the food. Definitely will be returning.
