The Royal in Gwynedd

Booked this place as a group… Worst singer ever and will not turn the music down. It’s not a dance club is a pub. Hopefully the torture ends soon. Why have music in the restaurant? Maybe you should offer ear plugs free at the door.

Food was really good. Always have a great selection of real ales. My only criticism would be for the steak and ale pie to be fully pastry, instead of in a dish. That being said the flavors were great and I would recommend it.

Fantastic place to stay. Really good value for money, ideally situated in the heart of the town and close to the beach. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean with a comfy bed, lots of drawer space, an iron and ironing board, fridge and lots of little extra touches such as slippers, water, bowls, treats and fleeces for the dog. The staff were really friendly and we were really impressed with the breakfasts and evening meals. We will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.

I visited this pub whilst on my hols. I found it clean, friendly and good value too.. I didn't try the food but it looked good. Full size snooker table available, plus pool, darts etc.. There was a DJ playing bangers on the Saturday night but I'm not sure if that's a regular thing or just for the Bank Holiday Jubilee weekend. I'd definitely call in again should I venture back to Barmouth, which I probably will.

Food was gorgeous appart from chips , it said "homemade chips" on the menu but saw them pouring them out of a plastic freezer bag in the kitchen . Not bothered of places do frozen, just don't lie . I know they do fries too so would ask for them next time rather than "homemade chips" as the rest of the food was lovely.

Excellent food and friendly staff, me and my wife had a couple of meals here both excellent fully interned to have fish and chips on the sea front but the whole experience at the Royal was great so we came back and weren't disappointed. Can highly recommend.

Stayed with my mom and the dog, very dog friendly and staff very helpful.Had breakfast in the room which was a nice alternative to eating downstairs (because of big dog)Pub was very busy and full of customers as there was entertainment and big selection of drinks.Rooms had comfy beds and beautiful shower, bottled water and hot drink selection (with biscuits) 😍Would stay again!

Loads of character in this seaside pub with a full size snooker table. Lots of interesting wall art and beer prices some of the best I have seen in many years. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere.

Large group of us stayed at The royal for a night and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were excellent, clean comfortable and good value. The food was excellent as was the selection of beer we sampled. We will certainly be back.

We stayed for one night and were really impressed. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and attractive. The breakfast was delicious and staff all very friendly. It was really good value and we will be returning soon.
