Beautiful hotel and restaurant in a perfect central location.Everything was superb, the breakfast, accommodation and service was of a very high standard. Everything was up to date, clean and well maintained.Lovely comfortable surroundings in the restaurant and bar with a sophisticated feel and classically decorated rooms. This hotel goes in my top 5.👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

food distinctly average. I had 12oz Gammon, which was OK. tough and fatty. The garbage raw with soggy bits of bacon in it. egg this side of snotty and the chips fatty and over done. the best part on my plate were the peas which they forgot, but righted when pointed out. At home this dish would have cost a quarter of the price and cooked so much better. Hubby had the pie which was OK. gravy nice but without having most of my chips , too...wouldn't have been enough...price OK at £13 each. would return to try hanging kebab. wine list decent..choice on menu quite good. would have the beer battered cod next time. young lad who served us 10th June very polite. love the bathroom tiles and decor. very clean.

Would definitely visit here again! They fitted us in at short notice on a very busy night and the food was served promptly, my Calamari starter was delicious and cooked perfectly being soft with a crispy batter. My main meal was 12oz gammon steak with fried egg, peas a cabbage and bacon side plus chips. I'd recommend this to anyone as it was really tasty but I've gotta be honest....The chips were absolutely incredible, best I've ever had! Chunky, crispy and fluffy on the inside as they'd been triple cooked 😋My wife who rarely has fish went for cod and chips with curry sauce and really enjoyed it, I obviously stole a "small" bit of fish and it was absolutely spot on.The food was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you book here just bear in mind the parking in town can be difficult but there's a main car park a short walk from the pub. Take change as the machines don't currently accept card payments.

Just spent the weekend here and had a great stay. The food was superb (the full Welsh breakfast should not be ignored!) Staff were friendly and efficient and we will definitely return. Thank you.

Nice place , polite and courteous staff , good drinks but regrettably that's where it ended .My experience is this is pub grub with an extensive menu trying to be a little more superior and unfortunately failing in the basic provision of providing decently cooked food . My vegetables were still half frozen , my grandsons noodles were solid at the ends and my son in law's gammon was so dry that it appeared it had been cooked a good few hours earlier.Nobody contested our views so maybe it was just an 'off day' .

Great building, beautifully refurbished, with wonderful staff.Dinner was British classics, with quality ingredients, very well cooked. The staff were all very high quality.A better experience than some 5 star places I have stayed at.

Stayed at the Royal Ship after hiking Snowdon. This place is absolutely fabulous! From first impressions, throughout our stay, we were so impressed! A lovely welcome, a large, comfortable, spotlessly clean room, delicious dinner in the dining room, and dessert in the pub.... everything was superb. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that we weren't staying longer. Most highly recommended.

Food and desserts taste homemade and delicious . The rooms are very cosy and had a balcony. Also was lovely to have his and hers towel bath robes in room . Only annoying thing is your own bathroom/ toilet is accessed by leaving your hotel room and it’s the room opposite. It only takes a second but a bit annoying as you have to use your key to get in there compared to if it was a en suite. On the up side the bathrooms are so well heated , lots of fresh towels , nice modern decor and good shower and lovely bath

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here this evening. The food was excellent. We both opted for the steak, which was superb. This is a lovely establishment that we've visited before and will definitely visit again, when we return next month. And thank you to Llinos for a lovely service.

Stopped by for food and some drinks. Nice friendly staff in a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. Loved the food. Classic pub stuff but really well done. My Steak and ale pie was fantastic, the home cooked chunky chips were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Even the veg was perfectly done and not the slightest bit soft. Loved it.
