The Union Inn in Gwynedd

Nice place, quite basic but good honest food.

We booked The Union Inn for my mother-in-law 60th Birthday. We wasn't disappointed.We came into the pub and was greeted by a lovely member of staff who took us to our seats, she had red/purple hair and was super lovely to my lad! The tables were all close together which was lovely.The food, was absolutely amazing. Everyone said how fresh and yummy it all was. A waitress who had recently retired but came back to help, made my 19month old up a yummy veg bowl, it was a lovely touch, and very accomdating.The restaurant and pub was a lovely warm traditional Welsh pub. We was so pleased with everything. Your customer service shone through the most!! Thank you for having us we will definitely come back.

This is a quirky old fashioned pub with some unusual seating arrangements but don't let that put you off as the food quality and portion size is excellent and exceedingly tasty. The staff are friendly and efficient if a little stretched due to its popularity. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and I would say very reasonably priced for the quality. These were accompanied by large portions of really good chips, side salads and a bowl of freshly prepared vegetables to share. Desserts were also very enjoyable and reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again and happy to recommend to others.

The lady running this pub is awesome. The team are working together seamlessly. The portions are massive. The beer is lush. The ambience is buzzing. Glad we stopped in, the place over the road looked tempting but we know we made the right choice coming here. 😎. 6 out of 5.

Lovely little pub just outside of Porthmadoc.Husband had sirloin steak & I had the gammon...both were really good.Would recommend & will return on our next trip to this lovely part of North Wales.

Brilliant place. Cosy and friendly. The food is lovely and lots of it haha. We will definitely go back. If you're in the area go in for your meal brilliant. All their tips went in the Ukraine fund. So generous of them x

We had a lovely dinner here during a stay in North Wales. The food was great and the staff were incredibly friendly. We got chatting with a local couple who said they often drove past their two nearest pubs, to visit this one. Our dog loved it too!

We were looking for a last minute place with no booking and I called The Union and spoke to Rachel who was kind enough to give us a table in their lovely beer garden. The service was amazing with multiple staff tending to us and making us feel welcome. It has a real family vibe to the place.The food was top notch quality, I recommend the lamb shanks.If you’re looking for a place that has great food and great staff, look no further.Thanks Rachel!~The Mighty Josh
