I came here with 8 people and spent quite a bit of money, I feel the place is attempting to be a gastropub, but without the quality. Salt and Pepper Calamari isn’t salt and pepper, it’s just a sweet chilli sauce (calamari wasn’t fresh, so it was very chewy). Overpriced wine, was served jack rabbit at about £16 a bottle. Overall price of the food to the quality was very poor. I feel this place is very overrated.

Visited mid week early evening. Waited a long time for food and drinks. One dish (chicken sizzler) was 'off' - confirmed by three other members of our party. Another dish (lamb sizzler) had chicken mixed in with it - same 'off' taste. On complaining, Manager insisted it was the 'tangy' sauce!. Chips were Luke warm and coleslaw been on plate for a while as had a skin on it. Cod dish was dry and tasteless. Two free puddings were offered and accepted. Have frequented this pub for many years and had lovely memories of delicious food and good times. Chef definitely changed I would say, such a shame to have experienced this.

This place is amazing, the waterfall just next to this lovely pub which you can hear as you walk in, came here on Sunday after been told how nice the food is becoming around the village omg! It didn’t disappoint the beef was so tender and rich gravy with meat inside, massive Yorkshire pud too, honestly the nicest Sunday dinner I’ve had in years, service was outstanding was always checking on us we were very well looked after loved it.Thankyou x

Very disappointed with the quality of food, have been here before and normally fine but Sunday dinner had to be the worst we have ever tried. Gloopy mashed potato, roast potatoes that tasted like they had been frozen generally very poor, along with the fact just under £18 for 5 soft drinks is expensive and the fact the waiter stood on my foot 3 times and knocked my arm while I was trying to cut my food without even a sorry is poor.Too be fair the manager did speak to us and apologise to us and refund us money so cannot fault that but we will not be eating there again as this experience put us off.

As a local I had not tried here before but had heard good things. How wrong was I!!Waited an hour for a our beef and lamb dinner and having ordered drinks which never arrived I was far from impressed. To make matters worse they tried to charge me twice for the one drink I had eventually received and argued with me when setting the bill!!The food quality was poor and the service awful.Never again

Went for Valentines meal was excellent. Just been 4 months later, food was semi warm, totally tasteless. Starters I have pate’s, I had this again only got one piece of toast.Tastless pâtés Salad leaves not proper salad again tasteless. Prices have shot up. Had chicken pasta was cold and tasteless. Then the tills crashed waited ages for bill. Not even bothered offering us a free coffee for waiting. Was our 25 th wedding anerversary, well disappointing. Wish we had stayed at home. Think they must be new owners.

Nice enough village pub.Wanted a snack so went for the posh fish finger sandwich. The fish was very tasty but only two bits between overly thick bread. £8 was OTT for this meal. Another goujon or two would have been value for money and I'd given the pub 5*.

Lovely food, visited here for Mother's Day. Bit of a wait to be served our food after a slight delay ordering drinks too, but understandable due to the occasion. Very busy at the time but table was booked in advance. The minted lamb was absolutely delicious. Came out sizzling and I really enjoyed it. The chunky chips were also delicious. Didn't order a starter but the deserts were lovely.Staff were polite but rather rushed off their feet.Would recommend eating here!
