Y Fricsan / Snowdon Inn in Gwynedd

Nice weekend, not too far from home. Set up was good, nice distance between each pitch and facilities were as expected. Pizza available Friday and Saturdays if you don't fancy cooking. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for the weekend.

Ian could not do enough for you. Great host. Fri & Sat pizza & steak night, very popular. Site is all you need, 2x clean toilets & showers. EHU, if wanted. Great location for Llanberis (Snowdonia)etc. Enviromentaly friendly. All camper vans, not sure if suitable for caravan? Dogs allowed on lead only.

My favorite campsite. Access to river (ideal for canoeing) with amazing wildlife. Perfect as Basecamp for all Snowdonia trips and walks. You can even have Your own campfire! Love pizza from Bakehouse(proper stone baked napolitana) Place to come back!

Great little site!! Super chilled out. All pitches are nicely spread out across the site. It's in a great spot too, right on the river bank. The water is slow moving enough to swim, paddle or just mill around in. Nice little pond tucked away down stream. With a kayak, there's a few miles that are passable and some grade 4 white stuff aparently further on. (I didn't go that far though, so can't confirm for sure). There's also a pizza place right next to the site, but be prepared to wait for your pizza, it's pretty popular and the pizzas take a while. Worth it though 😁Will definitely be returning!

Lovely little site, toilets and showers very clean and looked after, bit of a walk if you need them in middle of the night though. The owner was fab, really helpful and gave us some handy tips !

Cracking campsite in a beautiful location. The owner was fantastic and got us a pitch at really short notice. Unfortunately we had to leave abruptly in the evening and the owner waived the camping fees. Will definitely be back, cannot recommend enough!

Y Fricsan is a great place to stay. We made it our base for 3 big walks in 3 days (Tryfan, Snowdon via Crib Goch and then Y Garn) and it worked perfectly:• Easy to find• Quiet• Beautiful cold water swimming spot• Clean bathroom area and showers• and Ted (the host) was very happy to chat, give directions, suggest places to go etcI'll be going back ...

This campsite was fantastic. They had mowed out the pitches so we were separated from other campers by long grass - this was pretty but also gave the camping a nice, secluded feel. The plunge pool in the river was a delight as well and we had lots of fun jumping in. The toilets and showers were clean. The only issues being that they were quite a walk 5ish mins away and that there were no showers whilst pizzas were cooking on Friday and Saturday night. We didn't find this a problem though.

Facilities are limited but clean and well cared for. Lovely pitches, nicely spaced out and right on the river with swimming/launching right on site. We took our paddleboard and could put in feet from our tent.Although the site itself is lovely and set well back from the road, the bridge is close by and the road is very busy so there is a lot of traffic noise. This is not helped by the fact they are doing road works at the moment and there's a 3-way light with single lane traffic, so probably not always this dense. Construction crew arrives early in the morning and it's noisy af while they're working.
