Y Meirion in Gwynedd

I came to this pub a couple of weeks ago as I was in the village for my birthday after going to zip world up the road. Saw on the reviews it is a dog friendly pub, so we brought our dog along. We came late in the evening so we’re unable to order food, the bar staff were very welcoming and allowed us to order a takeaway. All the locals were also very welcoming and friendly. We came on a Saturday and there was a DJ which was great. All in all highly recommend this place if you’re here for a weekend away.

Nice staff, but cold, fire was never on. Bit pricey for the location. Doesn't look like it does in the pictures.

First pub I've been to in Wales. Small and intimate. Seems easy to meet people and have a good chat in there.

Nice little pub and the bar staff made us feel very welcome, only bad thing about our evening was ordering from the takeaway across the street lol

What a great pub! Locals are very friendly and gave me directions to the local hills.

Great dog friendly place! We arrived after giving them a ring about its being dog friendly. They said they were so it was a plus for us. There was first a bit of a confusion as they said they didn’t serve food today but we stayed for a drink anyway. Then the very kind bartender lady came over with menus, and we were able to order. Food arrived fast and it was a very big portion too. Delicious as well!! My boyfriend got a big pot of gravy with his dish and that was the best we’ve ever tasted!

A typical little local pub, though the high street is a little run down, the beer very reasonably priced and the bar staff were absolutely lovely, 10 min walk from some beautiful countryside (even in the rain) locals also very friendly

Meirion Belly Pork Ribs. Slow cooked during the day. It was enormous and fantastic!!! The best pork rib ever. 1 rib is probably enough, but 2 i better!

I can't speak to the food as they said at 7:15 that the chef was full to 8pm. It would have been nice to know this earlier but as one of the few pubs that servse food they probably don't need to advertise for the locals. However the bartender went out of her way to tell us we could have takeout after 8, and when we did she brought plates, cutlery and napkins. Drinks are standard and a popular place on a Friday.

Lovely small pub with incredible food. Despite being a locals pub and the main language spoken being Welsh (which we do not speak) my girlfriend and I felt more than welcome. After very quick service we thoroughly enjoyed the two specials: ribs and fried chicken. (Food was served from 6 on the Wednesday we were there)
