Bali Hi Fish & Chips in Isle of Anglesey

This award winning chip shop is probably the best on Anglesey and north wales. This is as good as fish and chips get, with friendly staff, great fish and chips as well as an extended menu. They do great work for the community and the place is clean and well run with a nice place to sit down and eat. Great after a day on the beach!

Just had one of, if not the, best fish and chips ever. Absolutely gorgeous, possibly even better than Trenchards in Whitby.Thank you!

Went here a week ago,the chips were delicious,the fish was very small (£5.50) No option of large or small portions ( just small) the staff was really pleasant

Very pleasant and friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices. What's not to like?

We've been to this establishment a few times and never been disappointed by the quality of food or the friendliness of the staff especially in these hard times brought on by the pandemic.I've read a few of the reviews rated at 3 and less on TripAdvisor. My thoughts on the reviewers is they've held some grudge on the safety aspect where the shop allows 2 in at a time and customers requested to wait outside whilst they wait for their order. This request isn't unique to this business. All local take away businesses practice this too.Someone commented on the fish being small with hardly any batter on it. In my opinion they ordered scampi, not the fish I have on a regular basis, with fills the dinner plate and the batter is perfect and delicious.I'm never disappointed with the friendly service or food offered here and highly recommend this to anyone who asks.[edit added 19 March 2022]We are back at our favourite chippy in Cemaes. It is excellent to see our friends back after their winter break. Tonight I had a chip bap and battered fish. The photo shows what I ate, but by the time I transferred the chip bap to the plate, I ate half the chips. So there were more chips than what is seen on the plate.In another post, someone claimed their fish was small. As you can see, the fish on my plate is anything but small.Mmmm tasty as ever. 2022 does not officially start until I've had by first helping to a meal from here.[edit added 9 April 2022]Tonight we went to our favourite fish & chips shop in Cemaes. I heard another customer ask about salt and pepper chicken in cheesy chips.I asked about this as I didn't know they did this. I was told salt and pepper chicken is a new item. It is strips of chicken in breadcrumbs served with the option of cheesy chips, with added chilli, and/or on a bap.I opted for salt and pepper chicken with cheesy chips.The last time I wrote a review, I almost forgot to add a photo and had eaten half the chips by the time I took it. This time I've remembered. The photo shows the full meal of the chicken strips with cheesy chips.The chicken is full of flavour and the cheese gives it that nice finished taste.Next time I want to try the same thing, but with chilli added. I really do hope this menu choice is here to stay.Whether you're a regular or new to this establishment, the chicken strips are highly recommended.

Had to pre order 3 cod as per instructions on the wall then fill out order on paper. No probs. The person cooking said that the fish had just been cooked. When we got home to eat, fish were obviously not just cooked, far too much batter which was inedible as so hard. Fish itself was only ok but not the best. Chips were average and a little greasy. Our son said the gravy was good. Peas were very watery and tasteless. We asked for salt and vinegar on everything and there was none on the fish at all. Very disappointed.

19th June 2021John and the team run their superb friendly and very popular fast food eat-in restaurant and take away in the centre of Cemaes offering a wide range of home cooked meals. Chicken Tikka Masala and chips. Delicious! We have been regular customers for our Saturday evening treat since moving here four years ago. We have always had excellent service and great food. They do operate on a cash only basis however there is a cash machine in the convenience shop across the road. Car parking right outside the shop which is usually available however there's also a huge free car park just round the corner. Looking forward to enjoying many more Saturday evening treat meals to come. Might have a pizza next time 😀9th April 2022We frequently visit our local Y Wygyr Fish and Chips take away restaurant and decided this afternoon we would visit again this evening. I don't often post updates or comments but after this evening's meal I really thought I should. It was truly outstanding! I decided to have fish and chips. Although that sounds pretty obvious, I usually enjoy other great meals from their menu. Wow. The fish was fantastic quality, a nice big juicy piece of haddock. Lovely and fresh and cooked to perfection. The batter was light, dry and crispy. John and his team are masters of their kitchen and clearly ensure they buy in the best quality products. Very highly recommended.

We had a fabulous meal here with our 2 little boys. We’ve never been to a friendlier place and to repeat what my 6yo said after “that was amazing!”The fish and chips was perfect (and I’m very picky). Lovely, tasty fish and excellent chips - great portions and nothing too greasy. The kids meal was served in a little bucket with a spade which they got to keep afterwards and they also got a little present at the end of the meal.Honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough! The kids are already asking when we can go back. ❤️

Excellent batter on the fish. Light and crispy, flavourful flaky fish. Chips not greasy. Best fish and chips I've ever had! Perfect portions. Polite and helpful staff. Busy and popular. Very well organised.

Nice chips and nicely cooked fish but was a bit pricey for what you got. The fish was on the small size and the large chips although a good size i feel they were overpriced.
