Great choices and kids menu. Only one veggie option but it was a lovely homemade veggie lasagne.

This place has been here for years & maybe complacency is the problem. I expected fresh, thick flakey cod (I'm at the seaside after all) but got small, skinny half fillets covered in chewy greasy batter. The chips weren't much better - greasy, hard & clumped solidly together. The pie was microwaved so ended up soggy & sunken. The team were pleasant & friendly but I pay for good food not good conversation. And it wasn't cheap - £4.00 for the cod alone. Small portions, high prices & poor quality. So based on that I can't recommend & I won't use again.

Arrived in Barmouth just before lunch. After ashort walk on the beach we decided to have fish and chips. Surely you can't get fresher than those from the seaside? You can if you use this place. I asked for two large haddock and chips and asked if the fish could be cooked from fresh. They said yes. I then watched them cook two small frozen portions.On a plus side it was hot but that's your lot. It tasted as though it was cooked in old oil. At least a third of the fish was like a schnitzel. It was a measly portion. The chips were very average. I had used this place based on the reviews. Maybe I caught them on a very bad day, though I suspect it was a pretty typical one.It sort of ruined the concept of lovely fresh fish and chips by the seaside. I personally wouldn't recommend.

Had Fish and Chips from the Dolphin whilst on holiday in Barmouth, they were absolutely delicious, the fish was lovely and fresh and chips cooked just right. It was also just far enough away from the sea front area to make the ques a lot more manageable.If in Barmouth I'd definitely recommend if you want great fish and chips

Quite the BEST fish and chips in Barmouth. For a sit down treat in clean pleasant surroundings staff friendly and welcoming. The Dolphin served six of us with our chosen meals and took away six empty plates. It’s stood the test of time, been going there since the 1960’s! They must be doing something right👍😃

Out of the choice of chip shops in the area we chose here. Decided to eat in so was asked to order in restaurant area which is slightly more expensive.Was busy and everyone seemed happy.Food was amazing curry sauce great chips great cod was great. My only grip was the cod was maybe a touch to oily but was still a great meal
