Sopna Indian Restaurant in Isle of Anglesey

Even on holiday I cannot resist a curry night so I found a nice little restaurant on AngleseaInterior ⭐️⭐️⭐️A bit basic but the majority of seats are in a conservatory extension which would be nice on a sunny day. There are a few elephants etc around which kind of make sense.Service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Again nothing bad here just not special, the food did take a while to arrive but I think that's because they were smashing delivery orders all night long.Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️A good solid meal! We had a few different currys including a lamb rogan rosh and a tikka masala which were all very good. The winner for me was the saag paneer, which was really creamy and delish! However the rice is served in metal platters which doesn't look good and because its all spread out it was cold the moment it hit the table.Price ⭐️So a mean score here but its more a lesson than a criticism, the simple facts are that if we had taken the food home as a take out we would have paid a third less. I just cannot justify paying over £30 more for the "experience" of dine in....Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️I love curry and I probably eat more than most so I have high expectations and unfortunately this just didn't quite meet them. That said, I would order take away from then if I was in the area as it was a good eat!

Pretty underwhelmed by the food to be honest not particularly flavoursome, mean portions of rice and not the warmest either. That said my party finished all the food but just nothing to get excited about. Place wouldn't survive with local competition about for sure. Thought it was expensive for what it was and believe it is a big premium for eating in instead of having takeaway. Service not the fastest and poor to have poppadoms come out before the drinks. All that said not a lot of choice around here (on holiday) so of you fancy a curry maybe go for it but don't expect a 5 star meal - or maybe my local curry houses are better than I think.

We took my grandparents here for there 58th wedding anniversary. What a wonderful meal. Nice atmosphere and super friendly service. Me and my wife have eaten Indian food all around the world as we live on New York. However we can honestly say this was one of the best curries we have ever had. They also treated my grandparents in a wonderful way acknowledging the special occasion. Thank you

Best curry that I have had. Chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavor of the Dupiaza was so good. Excellent customer service and good covid protocols.

We all had a very enjoyable experience at the Sopna. The food was very nice. I had the Sopna Special Byriani and mixed grill. Staff there were very friendly and polite, service was also very efficient. Value for money is excellent, I would definitely visit again and would highly recommend a visit.

Don’t be misled by the simple and basic ambience - the food and the service are top quality. If you were looking for spicy food, this is the right place. The variety of curries is great and has authentic South east Asian taste. Clean loo. Good value for money
