White Lion in Isle of Anglesey

Lovely pub, Very friend staff and Locals! Good beer and food. Dog friendly, with a nice beer garden and aviary. Our dogs Loki & Ernie ( The Irish Wolfhound ) loved it! Will be back when next visiting!

Cracking family friendly pub, cracking food, cracking people. A great place to stop off and eat when you're visiting Newborough Beach. They were very kind and accommodating. The kids loved the beer garden and the 🐦 aviary at the back too.

Always pop into The White Lion when we go to Anglesey. Welcoming, friendly, lovely pint, great food and lovely beer garden.

Nice friendly local pub ,would have had food but winter menu was limited otherwise 5 stars would have been given.

Upon entering the run down building we were greeted with 5 pairs of moody eyes and a sigh from the bar woman as if to suggest she was annoyed that we had disturbed her pint. It felt as if we’d unknowingly stumbled in on a locals night. She rudely and aggressively barked various orders at us - I understand it was during COVID but there was no need for the contempt shown towards us. Cash only business in 2021.We were given a flat overpriced cider and proceeded to drink this in the hostile atmosphere. I was genuinely worried about finding the exit as the one way system led us only to the toilets, and didn’t want to engage or aggravate the bar woman by asking her a simple question of how to leave.All in all I’m sure this pub is great for locals, but it’s a shame she had such a poor attitude towards us as she could tell we were not from the area and therefore didn’t care about repeat business from us - and it certainly showed.Wetherspoons has nicer carpets.

Enjoyed a decent pint of Guinness after a 12 mile walk. Would have preferred a choice of local real ales, but just assume demand may not be there.

Welcoming, pleasant atmosphere. Cash only but prices reasonable. Beer choice limited, be nice to see a few local beers in the chiller.

We came to the white lion for a pint with the locals and we're definitely not disappointed! Be aware that in winter, no food it served, but the beer is cold (yes, in the UK!) and the prices are good. This pub is clean and newly renovated, and the company and conversation are friendly and full of local knowledge.
