Castle Bistro in Wrexham

A lovely little place to eat. Friendly staff, quick and efficient. Reasonable prices, cheaper than I expected for food. I had the slow braised brisket and I can honestly say I have NEVER had a peice of beef so tasty or tender as this. You could cut it with a butter knife and have zero resistance. The gravy was plentiful and delicious. The veg was a tad firm for my husband's liking but he does like his veg really soft so this is a standard issue everywhere for him. The red cabbage was to die for, it had a unique taste that we both loved. Highly recommend, I'd go back anytime.

A lovely place in the courtyard of the castle. A big choice of sandwiches and cakes. The homemade pea soup was delicious, so was the home made cakes. It is also possible to eat downstairs in the castle, in a nice surrounding.

Lovely place and great food. Service was extremely good. Would definitely visit again.👍

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is good too. I've not come across a menu with this many options though, normally suggesting "Jack of all trades and Master of none". Our food was fresh, but weren't particularly tasty. I would recommend trimming the menu to the dishes that you do well and keeping it simple. Overall, not a bad experience - would recommend for a quick bite.

Visited this on a Sunday evening very last minute and was initially very happy with the service from the first waitress.Food comes and we discover that one of our calzones is the wrong one, attempted to tell other waitresses however we were met with vacant nods and then "that's not what was written down".So we carry on as most of the other food was nice, another waitress comes to ask us if everything is ok, asked to speak to a manager as we wanted to express that the service we had was not good.First waitress comes out to tell us the manager was not avaliable and I've got to be fair to her she did not fault other than leaving the job to the obviously less experienced. During our conversation with this waitress which could have been resolved very quickly we had threats thrown at us from another waitress for simply expressing the experience we had to say her partner "is a police officer" and that she would "get him down here" I don't know what the hell was going through her mind but the only thing that stood out for me was that we were the only people in the place of a younger generation. We work hard and earn our money, the same as anyone else. Absolutely disgusting service from some of the waitressing team. Hopefully you will learn from this and improve. I do not recommend though

My Wife and I had a lovely lunch today. Setting was genuinely nice.In regards to menu and cooking. The food is good. However I would say there is to much on the menu. If they got rid of half the menu and focused in on some core dishes they could easily be really amazing and would definitely have me coming back for more.

Amazing food, huge portions so excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive and the building is clean and well maintained. Highly recommended 😀

Lovely surroundings with a spacious, well adapted (to Covid regs) covered courtyard. Cosy, intimate main dining room. Friendly, relaxed staff. A very comprehensive menu. Well executed simple but tasty dishes. Reasonably priced food. Sensible pricing extended to the drinks too; 250ml glass of wine £6.50. Will be returning
