Croes Howell in Wrexham

This restaurant is lovely, perfect location and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, for the second time visiting, the service was very slow (to be fair we were a larger party on the 2nd occasion) the lady that was serving us was clearly very, very busy and did not stop but she continued on with a smile. So top marks for her.To our party, it appeared to be very understaffed for the 2nd time running.

Since it’s been reopened under new ownership this has become a great place to go! It’s local to me and it’s nice to have a family friendly atmosphere which was missing in the past. Food is tasty and fresh and they have a decent beer selection. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Playground and outdoor space for children to have fun in is brilliant!

We had the Dine for 4 Sunday lunch which came on a large circular wooden board, which looked very impressive until all the gravy spilled onto my clothes whilst trying to put it on the table. It would have been better to leave the gravy off till the board was on the table. The staff were full of apologies and helped clean it up. But on a plus side the food was delicious and plenty of it. Would we go again? Yes

We (2) booked a table for Sunday lunch 12th June, booking was easy online with plenty of times available. We arrived & were shown to our table, the food came out very quickly & it was lovely, however the only downfall was that it was very noisy in there with lots of families with small children, we asked to move to a table which was empty & slightly sectioned off but was told it was reserved, (I hadn’t realised you could reserve a particular table) and we weren’t able to sit there, so we continued to struggle to hear each other over the noise. I must admit it has put us off going there again, not everyone wants to eat there Sunday lunch in what seemed like a kids party. On leaving just 45 mins later (with no one yet to occupying the table we had asked to move to!) we noticed the tables near the entrance were quiet & relaxed. Maybe the staff should be more mindful about where they sit families & couples so that everyone gets a chilled out meal..

Oh dear, been here twice in 4 weeks. First time we assumed the lack of organisation was due to new staff after reopening. 4 weeks or so later we experienced more of the same.We were there on the Friday of the Jubillee weekend for the outdoor barbeque. They served some many of us (outside) with food from the resreraunt, then refused for one person and forced him ro eat inside on his own. Just ridiculousSome of the food was great, some average and some, on the first visit, was, frankly, appalling.Great venue with fantastic space outside for kids to keep busy, which is why we persevered.

The Sunday roast platter for 4 came and looked splendid, But trying to place it on the table, they spilt gravy on my tea shirt and trousers which spilt from the large wooden board, so if they had brought the gravy separately all would have been good, but we were impressed with the quality of the food.A little thought next time how you serve the large dinner for 4 on a board.

Came in for a birthday meal, was very impressed with the service, food was of high standard very good price for what you get, didn’t take long at all for the food to be brought to the table. The table was waited by Charlotte she was a friendly and approachable member of staff who was very professional and clearly knew what she was doing. If i could give 6 stars i would, highly recommend for a meal! definitely would go here again.

Beautiful pub /restaurant..attended a relatives birthday celebrations hereStunning modern decor inside and spacious rooms..The staff are friendly attentive and very politeVery welcoming.. Atmosphere..The menu has a veriety of choices..Steak fish chicken etc..The food was well presented and served on hot plates so it was hot upon arrival at the tableMy wife said the toilets had.. Hairspray perfume and other lady toiletries availableFrom my personal experience the men's room was of high standard also.No hairspray though...As I say here for a birthday celebration..And the staff presented desert on slate with happy birthday in chocolate sauce..What a beautiful gesture..Thanks for making the night so sweet and memorable..

We stopped here on the way back from a cycling trip. The team in Cries Howell could easily take the title of the friendliest and most welcoming pub. They quickly found us a dog friendly table, brought treats and water. Food choice on the menu was so generous we had to take a while to decide what to go for. Will definitely visit this place again, as well fell genuinely welcome.

Amazing food and service!We ate here with our dog and he’s never had so much fuss at a restaurant.We had a gorgeous meal, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!
