The Hand in Wrexham

Our party of four had a wonderful lunch at the Hand Hotel today. One of the party has cancer and needs to shelter from covid so we phoned first to ask the staff if they could give us a secluded spot in the garden. They made sure we had a lovely covered table out of the wind, and asked our preferences for ordering to make sure we’re were comfortable with the level of contact. In addition to this the food was wonderful, the service was wonderful and we had a really great time!

Food was not upto standard, chicken was cooked too much and food generally no salt or flavour. Came in with high expectation but left halfway through meal. Would not recommend for food here. Atmosphere was uncomfortable large groups of people drunk and shouting.

This family owned hotel needs urgent renovation. Noisy beds, old and dirty bathrooms, filthy and so on. Total makeover would be best.

Sasha was our waiters, we started with few cocktails which was a great surprise included a non alcoholic one to my son.We ordered Ribye steak with Thyme and garlic field mushroom and handbaterred fish peas and hand-cut chips.The car park was accessible, the hotel grounds and various room to rest are very confortable. The garden great for children and young children, as well for the growing ups. The various places to visit around the hotel makes the location absolutely amazing.The Chirk Castle deserves 4 hours to explore at least. Runned by the National Trust

Had a great stay here for 1 night in November 2021. Helpful staff and clean rooms. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel. Friendly, helpful,polite. Superb food. As I'm staying here for work and start before breakfast they made a pack up lunch for me. Fantastic.

Sunday lunch as a pre-birthday treatAlthough we booked, we waited for them to lay a table (with used paper napkins)!!Dont bother with the pate starter, you'll find it on the massive chiabatta roll thats covered with very sickly sweet onion relish!! The mains were good and fresh veg was good. Fairly priced

Lovely atmosphere good food all hot and fresh also had my dads wake there everybody complimented the freshness of the excellent buffet .

We have just had two fantastic nights in this lovely hotel, we were given room 11 that was huge and comfy.The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful, we had breakfast in the beautiful period dining room and the breakfast was lovely, hot, tasty and plenty of choice.The hotel is situated in the heart of the village and is ideal for walking to the amazing Aquaduct and up to Chirk Castle.All in all a really nice hotel that we would very highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal and drinks last night here and the staff and atmosphere was great nice to see people enjoying themselves again.Even though there was a big party of over 10 and 2 separate party's of 6 the staff were efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend the fillet steak as well.Thanks for a great evening 👍🏻 we'll be sure to pop again.
