Visited for a Sunday dinner. All meats were over cooked and hard to chew, Potatoes overdone and dry, aunt Bessies Yorkshire pudding. Carrot mash was nice, but that’s sadly about it.Highly average which is a shame when so many other fantastic options on the door step in same price range. If your considering, drive around the corner to the boat at erbistock and enjoy a proper Sunday roast.

Great food and atmosphere. Excellent playlist on too! Worth the money. Forgot to take a picture of me meal because I couldn't wait to eat it!

We visited for my friends birthdays and from the start seemed a good experience. The waitress was lovely, drinks served quickly, free fish and chip scraps served and accommodating to our last minute change in numbers (just -1 person). That is where the pros end.Two of our chicken mains were pink and my friend who ordered a blue steak was given it medium at best. We completely understand that things go wrong and mistakes happen however the way this was dealt with by staff was disgraceful! We were repeatability quizzed by multiple staff how the steak was ordered even though we were all witnesses to it including the original waitress who took the order (jokes were even made about ordering it blue at the time). After this an extremely rude manager stormed over to the table to inform us that we were wrong as she knew the steak had been cooked 30 seconds each side as thats what the chef told her. Her attitude and was disgusting. My friend informed her that this was not the first time this had happened as she had a very similar experience a few weeks prior. The manager argued that much and was so rude that we had to ask her to leave the table. This completely dampened our experience and ruined the rest of our meal. My friend ended up ordering a pie instead and had to eat alone once the rest of us had finished. After a lengthy discussion the steak and undercooked chicken mains were taken off the bill but we were left completely underwhelmed and disappointed with our experience and will not be rushing to return. Its a huge shame as we can understand sometimes things go wrong with the meals but the Blk Sheep desperately need to learn how to deal with complaints properly and how to deal with their customers and not stand at the table shouting and arguing with them basically calling them liars. At one point she actually offered my friend to go into the kitchen to see how the steak was cooked🤯. Please just take responsibility when things go wrong. In addition one of our groups chicken starters was also undercooked, and my friends ‘hot’ salmon starter was as cold as the customer service skills demonstrated. However, at that point we did not want to complain about anything else as we knew the hostility we would get. Many of us have worked in hospitality, catering and retail so have plenty of experience dealing with customers and complaints and have never dealt with anyone with such a disgraceful attitude. The staff also need to realise they can be seen through a glass screen when stood at the till with a chef slagging their customers off.I would like to add that Olivia was absolutely lovely and deserves a lot better than to deal with such management. We could not fault her service.

We went today as a last minute decision and booked for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is nice and friendly and the decor is very in keeping.Highly recommend the Scrumps which you get a free portion of. We shared a half pint of scampi to start, and we had a roast beef and a roast pork (and were able to add a Yorkshire to the pork because...well why wouldn't you).Meat was very tender and beautifully cooked as were the sides. Will definitely be back!

On Sunday 11 of us celebrated my grandsons birthday sorry to say the menu was so disappointing there was more food off the menu than on it the meals served at different times the steaks came with no chips just prawns that went even ordered my granddaughters burger was served 10 minutes after everyone else i was so disappointed I ended up with sausage and mash and for the privilege I paid over £300 I usually don’t complain if it hadn’t been my grandson birthday I would have done so on the night hopefully I will get some kind of response thank you

Just had another fantastic meal at The Blk Sheep, Gorgeous food & drink every time and the music & atmosphere is so good, Donovan and all the staff you really do an amazing job, thank you.

Beautiful bar!! Great selection on the food menu, we had some ‘fussy’ eaters in our party, but there seemed to be something for everyone. Loved the soft serve ice creams for dessert also, great presentation. Overall very impressed, will definitely be returning!

Food and drink are great but you really need to sort out the service to the bar area. Third time we've waited longer than people arriving after us and then being told food stopped serving when we went to order. Must do better

Nice convivial atmosphere, and the restaurant is well laid out and welcoming. The service was faultless, friendly, and efficient. The food was very tasty, and portions were good sizes (the chips were delicious as was my turkey burger)👍My criticism would be of the 'tabloid' style menu, which seems over complicated and a bit of a mish mash. There were eight of us having a family meal, and we all felt the same with regard to the menu.Given this is the same management who run the Three Eagles in Llangollen, there the cauliflower starter is served on a plate with a dip, here is is served in a mug....why, there is no need, just put it on a plate please.Other starters are also served in the same way, which is perhaps a Blk Sheep gimmick, but with food this good there really is no need.So to sum up, I can't fault the food, and I can't fault the service, but please make the menu more straightforward and easy to read!

A simple, limited menu done very well. Making use of some local producers and name checking them on the menu which is nice to see. The menu format had my mum slightly baffled but it's newspaper layout means you need to take a bit of time to make sure you've read it all. That adds a bit of time to the decision process, which I thought was actually a good thing. Sensibly priced. Lovely, friendly team. It was one of our parties birthdays and the team delivered a birthday card with the bill which was a nice touch and very much appreciated.
