Wynnstay Arms Hotel Ruabon in Wrexham

Absolutely wonderful place. Staff exceptionally friendly. Food excellent. Dog room outside - really good. Dogs even got a sausage for breakfast!

Cold and dry food. Waited 1 hour between starters and mains. Was told the chef was new and he was the only one working. We were a party of 12 PRE BOOKED and we could see other tables throughout the restaurant with reserved signs on. I ordered chicken liver pate which came without the chutney, asked the waitress who came back with "they didnt have any", should this have not been stated upon ordering?Waitress asked how my food was following the mains, I said "dry and cold" "needed more sauce" her reply "aww the chef is new, yours was the first salmon dish hes ever made" no apology! The rest of my party werent impressed at all, chips hard and crispy, bottom of the fryer! I'm not one to complain AT ALL but after spending nearly £200 and no apology we will not return!

Attended a wake here, the room was decorated beautifully. The seating nicely arranged the food was plentiful and a lovely mix of fresh sandwiches and hot small sausage and fries. Plenty of scones with fresh cream and bara bryth.Would recommend as a perfect venue for this type of occasion, but would also say it looks a great venue to have any type of celebratory event too. Although i didn't see them, they have rooms. Looked to be a nice pub too. Not essential info, but always good to know...the ladies conveniences were also very clean and well maintained.

The staff were amazing and could not do enough to accommodate us and make us feel welcome, the food was amazing and very tasty and the staff were informative about the food they were serving.I could not recommend this hotel enough what a great stay we had .. thank you.

We had a lovely meal and the staff are so friendly. Would definately go again. I had the fish and chips and the batter melted in my mouth and my husband had the pizza which is huge and served on a wooden platter. It was all lovely.

Lovely heritage hotel. Enjoyed our stay. The waitress, when we arrived, delivered menus but didn't tell us to order at the bar so we waited ages before doing so. The food was good and arrived promptly. The real ale okay. No real cider on. Breakfast was absolutely great. Explained how it was laid out when we arrived, order taken quickly and brought at exactly the right time. Room decorated beautifully. Shower wonderful. Husband still managed to hit his head on the low door frame despite the large warning above it.

We had a very pleasant lunch, served by Paula. She was helpful and chatty. We had onion rings as a starter and then breaded chicken with chips. The venue is tastefully decorated inline with the history of the venue. Prices were very reasonable and our meals were hot and tasty. We hope to return when we visit the area again

Great experience. Food was excellent. Service was quick. The young lady who served us couldn't have been more pleasant. The Wynnstay, Ruabon is our restaurant of choice. Although we live 40 miles away it is well worth the drive.

I would like to express my thanks for the care and attention you showed our family and friends on the day of my mams funeral. The venue for her wake was beautifully presented and food much enjoyed by the guests. I can highly recommend the Wynnstay for any function, and look forward to returning soon.

Spent £132 for a one night stay which is quite steep for our budget. Chose location due to visiting family nearby and based on local reputation. The building itself was amazing, as was the size and cleanliness of the family room my partner and 2 young children (aged 2 and 1) stayed in. However, our family room was situated directly over the bar which sounded like the tenants were sat in the room enjoying their festivities right up until half 11 that night. We put the TV on for background noise to try and eliminate the sounds from the bar, but to no avail, and it took an eternity to settle the children. It was just too loud downstairs. Then the next morning the shower didn't work; there was a break in the shower head hose at the head, causing water to spray in every direction but where it was supposed to go. Customer service and staff were wonderful and very helpful regarding our complaints and we were partially reimbursed some of our money for the issues encountered. Won't stay again with 2 young children, but would consider staying under different circumstances.
