Bank Tavern in Allerdale

Such a lovely welcome. Taking respite from the hail and sleet with a baby in pushchair and a dog we were welcomed in and the lady who found us a table (sorry didn’t get your name) even asked a very nice couple if they could move table to make room for us. We then both ordered a roast one lamb one beef and the food was amazing. So tasty and the meat was cooked perfectly. Couldn’t have had a better experience from the staff and the food. Would highly recommend.

Amazing food, I even struggled with the amount. You will never starve here. Great quality and at competitive prices. Good range of beers. Good atmosphere and excellent service. Food is served quickly and with a smile, hot as well. Will have be back soon.

Absolutely outstanding food. Had the lamb Sunday roast and was cooked perfectly to my request of medium. Nearly had to roll home after this feast of a meal. Lovely local beers on draught as well. Will definitely be back when we are next in the area 👍

Walked into pub took a seat and sat down. Immediately asked to move from carpet area as we had our small dog with us. We happily agreed to move. Then as the pub got busier with guests and diners we noticed the no dogs on carpet rules were not adhered to???Would not recommend to any dog friendly people as there better pubs on the area..

Delicious food, lovely staff, dog friendly. What more could you want? One extremely kind member of staff even ran after us after they spotted I'd left my phone on the table. Definitely worth a visit!

Long waiting time for food but worthy every minutes. Delicious and big portion for reasonable price in this location. Very nice stuff. Recommended

You know, when it's raining in Keswick (no surprise there though) but you're at the end of a pandemic that's literally forced the staycation to swell numbers in the lakes by 150% (if that's possible) you end up having to deal with two things that you normally don't have to. They're not deal breakers (I'll continue to holiday here when they've all gone back to the costa-del-footyhooligan-land) but it sullies, shall we say, an otherwise nice day. Firstly, since they're not on the fells, they're in my favourite haunts. Secondly, since they don't walk fells they don't wear waterproofs so I have to walk around Keswick dodging umbrellas. You might say I'm being unreasonable but it's changed this town I'm telling you. I'm not a regular of the The Bank Tavern but today they had a table (probably the last in town) and they served me local ale, well kept, with perfect civility and hospitality. The umbrella users were all around me but I'll forgive the pub - business will be back to normal next year. Fingers crossed.

Pretty good pub food! The atmosphere is pleasant, both inside and within the enclosed beer garden.Nice selection of drinks, and everything on the menu that you'd expect from a British pub's food menu. Big portions, so good to share some plates with beer!

Been here a few times, we would recommend. Staff are great and helpful, food is very good and value for the money. It helps they also serve cask ale, keeps hubby happy 😊
