Brewers Fayre Cockermouth in Allerdale

We stayed next door at the premier Inn, 2 weeks ago, for 3 nights, evening meals were good, great value tasty, breakfast was great, very filling!Service was very good, but the icing on the cake was a waitress called Heather, whom came running out to us as someone had left their wallet back in the restaurant, Heather is a credit to you Brewers Fayre, to have some one as sincere and caring for the customer is to your credit!

Ate pre evening meal on 23/05, party of 14, no complaints food average, decided to go back with husband on 27/05, waited 30 minutes from ordering, we booked for 6pm but arrived 25 minutes early, told no problem as not busy, when my gammon arrived had to send back as cold and raw. By the time I got my meal my husband had finished his, barely an apology from waitress and nothing from management. With this inconsistentancy in service wouldn't eat here again.

Amy and her team are fab! They looked after us so well, even though they were short staffed, nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast a couple of times as well as dinner, food is good and the Cocktails too. Lovely cozy pub. Nice and clean, tables a good distance apart. The team are doing an ace job!

Generally not a good experience. Staff friendly, but slow service for this type of restaurant. Food quality not good, fish and chips, fish greasy. Mixed grill, meat overcooked, steak well done when asked for rare. Overall not a pleasant meal. And to top it off mixed up bill, paying to much, eventually resolved. In our opinion would not recommend and we will not return.An additional comment, breakfast was a better meal, full english. Well cooked and tasty. Would recommend breakfast. Still doesn't change my score

Went today with my mam, the lady who seated us said someone would be along to take our orders. 10 minutes later the same lady took our drink and food order, we asked for 2 refills and 2 mixed grills (well done steak) but after another 10 minutes no sign of drinks. My mam asked another waitress for a diet Coke refill and a normal Coke refill, she brought them over but turns out regular Coke isn't on the refill list, probably our fault there but still a bit disappointing as we'd told the first waitress we wanted 2 refills. Food came out and the steak on my plate was still red in the middle, I didn't ask for it to be sent back because I'm an awkward soul but it put me off a bit, decided I would take it home for the animals instead. Couldn't fault the rest of it but I didn't eat any of the meat on the plate as the blood had put me off. The manager (possibly Jamie?) dealt with our bill, he sorted a takeaway box out for the leftover meat, he asked if everything was okay and my mam told him about my steak being undercooked. He apologised and upon paying when I gave him my buy one get one free voucher he refused to take it as he'd already taken one mixed grill off the bill. Very nice man as we hadn't asked for it taken off, was really pleasantly surprised by the gesture.Gave 4 stars as every other time I've been here I have enjoyed it and Jamie really made up for the experience

Fantastic food, fantastic service. I recently came back and very much enjoyed my time here. Amy was here and remembered me immediately from my visit 12 months ago. Friendly as she was back then. A credit to her job and employers. Sam was also fantastic and served always with a smile.

Popped in to use a two for one voucher with a 12month old, our waitress (Abbi) was so lovely. Super friendly with the baby, attentive with our ordering and checking up with us. Food was the usual from these sort of restaurants, surprisingly good for the cost!Thank you Abbi, we'll see you again soon

Absolutely amazing service, friendly, polite, amazing on time quality food, very welcoming, they have managed to find us a table even without appointment.Steak cooked to perfection and the Fish and chips massive quality fish. Ordered sharer platter was very nice only fault was soon as we finished our food come out which had obviousley been made just after the platter and been stood ubder a hot lamp.Due to this my burger bun just crumbled into crumbs when i took a bite had to waste the bun and just eat burger sadly aswell chips where cold.I would reccomend in future that when starter is finished the main course is then prepared.Staff where absalputley great friendly very helpfull people.

This is a good place to eat if you’re staying in the Premier Inn next door, and don’t fancy spending too much or making the trip into Cockermouth after a busy day. I found the tables to be well distanced from each other and I liked that the restaurant was generally quite quiet. The food is inexpensive for what it is. The meat is nice, especially the mixed grill. The chips had obviously come from frozen, but the sweet potato fries were nice. The vegan burger was passable, and the drinks were cheap. The side salad didn’t look great though. They also do refillable soft drinks which is good. Unfortunately they are suffering from a lot of supply chain issues. Because of this, large portions of the menu were listed as being unavailable. And, even when you chose something listed as being available, they sometimes weren’t available. This is disappointing. However, I’d recommend the cookie s’mores dessert and the lasagne, as they were relatively tasty.
