Stunning old house, stayed in the 4 poster suite. Gorgeous views across to Skiddaw, warm, clean, beautiful room. A filling breakfast that certainly sets you up for the day.

This venue is in an old antiquated type of Manor house.Extremely old fashioned...dated and on the shabby side. Our room was neat to say the least..just about enough room to access both sides of the bed.Shower room was in a small cupboard! Both parts of the window were velux type and dirty.Having said that the room was clean...the breakfast was good. Not worth the 80 pounds...should be a good 10-15 pounds less.Covid protocols in place.....

A lovely friendly Welcome to a hidden gem of a place with view's that make you feel so Lucky to be there. The rooms are gorgeous. No exaggeration.. We could hear Peacocks and then they approached the garden whilst we ate our breakfast. Magically a memorable stay and now go there for drinks a chilled atmosphere indoors and out.

'The Craggs' has majestic views of the Cumberland Mountains, the Lake District. It is also the best family dining and get together place in the West. Top class food at quite reasonable prices. 'The locals go there' is its best selling feature

Had a lovely stay here. The hotel is in lovely location and plenty of parking. The staff were all so friendly and the service excellent. Our room was nice with all you need. The food was very good. We had an evening meal and Sunday lunch. The breakfast was also also good with plenty of choice.Would recommend and will stay again.

We had dinner here with extended family who we're guests at the hotel and the quality of the food was great! Their homemade lasagna was fantastic and the portion sizes were very generous. The only element that let the place down was one of the staff not being a good fit for working with the public, see seemed tired and frustrated when asked questions

It was a cold evening and we had dinner. Four of us dined alone in the very large main room which was chilly even though we were next to a radiator. It may have been better had it been full of cheerful people. The meal was only adequate, I had a tough chicken breast with tons of large chips. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Must do better with the stodgy cooking.

Stayed at the Hotel early August for a short break. Couldn't fault in at all, really good value. Breakfast was Excellent & so were the staff. As it was our Anniversary during our visit we booked the Bridle Suite. What fantastic views & a massive room, a little dated but Clean. Would stay there again, thank-you to all the staff.

Stayed here at the start of July and really had a fantastic stay. Apart from the beautiful grounds and views from the terrace, the staff were super helpful and very cheery throughout our stay. We were using it as a base for walking. Great to return to a hearty tasty dinner and a comfy bed every night.
