Crown Inn Spice in Allerdale

Was only able to give 1 star but if i could have given 0 then I would have.Ordered food at 18:00, didn't arrive till 20:15.Food did come in really hot so that gave us some hope and we were more optimistic.But then after tasting the food we were really disappointed.Taste was abysmal, texture was sloppy and after one taste of each meal, we threw it all in the bin and ended up cooking our own dinner.Restaurant wouldn't even refund us some money for food being late.This was the only takeaway we ordered from whilst on holiday here in the Lake District and it has really set the bar low.Do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, complete waste of time and money.

Food was excellent. Well worth the money

The worst curry we have ever had. It went in the bin after we waited 1hr 40 min for delivery. Had to read the description on the lid to know which dish was which. Terrible service, long delivery and terrible food. I only gave it 1 star so I could write a review 🤮

Appalling.... Overcharged me three times.... Fourth chance got the wrong order and refused to make it right despite my partner's IBS for overspicy..... Steer well clear

Ordered food at 5pm on a Saturday and 3 hours later it still had t arrived. I eventually drove to the takeaway to find they still haven’t cooked it. A further 30 mins later I received my order and went home. Personal views are just pure greed and cannot say no to the money. We ordered from heat every week but will never return due to this experience

We ordered some accessories on line for curry we already had prepared. This included popadums, bhajis and samosas for vegan and meat eaters. Payment on line was easy. We decided to collect rather than have the food delivered. A collection time was provided and were only had a short wait upon collection. Staff were friendly and there was a comfortable waiting area provided. Food was delivered to our car and was got and tasty when we're are it teen minutes later. Flavours were delicious, popadums were crisp, all items were enjoyed. Prices were reasonable. A good place for a take away.

Had food delivered to our caravan park during our break away.Food not good at all, I've eaten better from a jar.Lamb was so dry and veg curry was bland.No omelette or egg at all in biriyani

2 weeks ago I ordered a meal delivery via Just Eat from Crown Spice and never received the meal despite them posting the meal as delivered. Trying to get my money back from Crown or Just Eat has become a mission Impossible. Just Eat tell me I must call the restaurant to get them to call Just Eat and confirm they are prepared to refund me, I did this, Crown agreed to do this but according to Just Eat they have failed to do so.I regularly use Just Eat and normally get great service from the chosen restaurants, Crown Spice is the exception.Shame on you Crown Spice and all for £15.85Thanks but never again

Honestly adore this place, the food is incredible, the staff grow some of the food fresh. I've never had a bad or a good meal from here, they are always exceptional. If you want to treat your taste buds to some flavour that you cannot experience elsewhere, get an order in here.

If there was no stars that's what I give this restaurant/food. Food was late and dry, cold and a waste of money, but I did get a free bottle of freeway cola a because I spent over£20. It's the first time I've ordered from this restaurant and will certainly be the last, I called the restaurant twice the first time to ask where my order was and the second to also ask but to cancel and ask for a refund, of which I was told both times it had left the restaurant and if I wanted a refund to take it up with just eat. Totally unacceptable food and service don't waste your money.
