Visited here today with my elderly parents for lunch. We were given such a warm friendly welcome by all the staff, they really are lovely bunch, they made time to chat with everyone who came in. The food was absolutely amazing, nicest I have had in a long time. We will definitely be back.

We walked over the fells from our camping spot to go here for lunch a couple of weeks ago after a recommendation from our hosts. Was a busy Saturday lunchtime but there were loads of tables outside. We had the fish finger sandwich and the vegan burger, both were really good. They had a great selection of vegan options for a rural pub. Could do with more cider choice, only had one on tap and one bottled option, but after a hot day walking a cold pint of anything was very welcome! Service was very good and prompt despite a busy Saturday lunchtime. Would definitely go back!

Amazing food, amazing service, I went on an extremely busy Saturday afternoon and the staff were very helpful, friendly and quick considering how much they had to do. Food was delicious and the Inn is dog friendly too! Will definitely be going back!

Called in after a day on the fells. Made very welcome. Excellent service. Defo recommend the Steak and Ale pie. Wife enjoyed the Hake.

Lovely friendly country pub. We thought we might be to early to go there as it was only 11.30 but they were open for coffee and scones or cake. We didn't have any food but it was quite busy with people eating so seems really popular. They also have there own micro brewery, my husband of course had to try and said the beer was really good. This place is on the list for another visit but probably with food the next time.

Food was poor. The risotto was over cooked, the rice would have been better served with cream and sugar. The Blackbean burger and sweat potato was cold. Nothing was eaten of that yet the waitress said nothing when she collected the plates. A nice location, but the food is below pub grub standard, looks like they are trying too hard with teenage chefs.

Cracking place... Wonderful walks, views & a charming location. Good food and very helpful staff. Accommodation was great and just right for us ( we were a party of 3 in the family annex ).

Great experiance. 68 years now. Me and a pal Green Lanning. Stopped for Coffee and Cake. Made very welcome! Great Coffee and Victoria Sponge Cake. Been visiting since my teen years. Good in warmer times as you can sit outside. Customer Service so good. Thanks to all the Staff. David and Wayne

Fantastic find. Really friendly staff and the food was brilliant. Huge portions! Definitely worth making the journey to visit. Top of our list now.

Fantastic pub! Stopped off after a cold water dip at Buttermere. Pub was fully booked for dinner but we were lucky enough to be squeezed in for some food as we'd arrived early. Food was absolutely fantastic, staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially considering how busy they were and the reduced staffing as a result of the latest covid outbreak which they said was hitting them hardest this time around. Really recommend though maybe book to ensure a table and to reduce stress to the staff!
