Good atmosphere in a friendly pub with some tasty beers

Called in with friends this evening for Sunday lunch. We received a warm welcome (inc our dog). The Beef and Chicken Sunday lunch was excellent. Good range of ales and wines. The service was good even though the bar person was on his own. Would highly recommend for Sunday lunch and good service.

First time into the Lake Road Vaults for many years - erm, it's called bringing up children 😒 - and it is excellent! Very well furnished and the staff are great. Didn't skip a beat when the retired Geordie asked for a snakebite 😊. Lovely meal and can highly recommend 👍

Lovely place, delicious food fair prices and super friendly staff.. That's all you could wish for after long hike up the mountain ❤️ Highly recommended.

We have visited here every time we have come to Keswick, although it's been a couple of years since we last did due to covid. Was disappointed to find they no longer do pizzas as that's what we returned for, but nevertheless, the food we ordered was really nice. The bar man even got us a really small glass of lemonade for our 2 year old who wanted pop like mummy and daddy and another member of staff a spare plate so we could give our son a bit of each of our meals as he won't eat a full adult meal. The only downside is no changing facilities for our son, we've changed him in the outside pool room before when he was really small, and this time I quickly changed him on the floor of the ladies toilet at it's clean. But I do understand a lot of smaller places don't have the room for facilities.Thank you to the owner for their reply, will certainly bear this in mind for future visits! Never thought to ask. 😊 Thank you!

Been a few times over the years. The beer kept is always excellent, currently Robinson's Helles Lager and Derwentwater Bitter both 👌🏻, food is traditional fayre but excellent nonetheless, Ham, Egg & Chips, Cumberland sausage all terrific. Not as famous as some of the other pubs in Keswick but I'd definitely recommend. Staff very welcoming and friendly too. 👍🏼

Party Party Party, went on a Saturday night and how I’ve missed live music. Pub had people dancing and singing, full of locals who welcomed us into the great atmosphere. Service was quick even though they were busy. So happy to have music back, can’t comment on the food but drinks were all available and reasonably prices :)

Fantastic pub food. Sign over the bar states ‘’we don’t serve fast food, we serve good food as fast as we can’’. That says it all. Really tasty food, friendly staff and lovely rustic and authentic pub. Thanks for a lovely visit. Oh and the kids and dogs were also made to feel very welcome. 👍

Full of people of course, i think not enough staff, but they are kind and helpful. If you wanted to eat then you had to wait 1.5hour at least. Good beer garden, inside cosy, clean toilet (really clean). Was great time we had there.
