Lakeside Cafe Restaurant in Allerdale

Excellent café with some great views towards cat bells if you can get a window seat. Always nice and warm in winter so lovely for a break. Soup of the day was very nice and great value. Great day out on walla crag and nice coffee in the cafe. New photo.

A little expensive for a cuppa but on par for most places in the lakes. Lovely place to hide from the weather for a bit.Update: Have been back recently and had food here.. was delicious and good portions. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff and service was expert and really friendly. Attention was paid to service, surroundings and the food was superb, melting in your mouth. Would totally recommend.

Tasty food! Fresh great tasting coffee, speedy service and very well presented.Only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because of the price. £6 for a bap just can't be justified.. Although tasty £6 is just too much..

Nicely situated but expect to pay for the view. Got 2 sandwiches 2 cans of pop 2 packets of crisps two small hot drinks and a scone each and was £32. It was vice nice quality though. Dogs were also welcome as it was a nice day we dined outside.

It appeared online that they had full English breakfasts, but they didn’t… so I paid £6 for a bacon buttie, which had 2 and a half bits of bacon, came in a brioche bun (which is just weird) and I asked for butter and they didn’t put it on. I would definitely expect a slightly better service considering the price. Only reason it isn’t at 1 star is because I love the Lake District and the bacon was actually cooked well. It’s a shame because this place is in a great location and has a lot of potential.

We had some coffee and ice-cream after a long walk in the woods. Variety of flavour options in ice-creams. It was busy when we got there and couldn't find a table inside as part of the cafe was blocked for dinner time. However, outside seating was good with beautiful lake view.

Great café with free Wi-Fi (no phone service) and friendly staff. They have many dishes. We ordered beef shawarma, jackpot potato, and spongy cake. All were great except for the fact that the cake has too much sugar in it.

We visited the place after being starving and exhausted from a long hike. We went in just expecting to get a drink and a light snack, but after seeing the menu, decided to order something more substantial. We were seated outside as it was such a lovely day. I would say there was a lack of customer service, but I do believe they were quite busy. We were fine with this as we were more bothered about getting some food inside of us. I think this place is quite expensive for what it is, however, I can not complain about the food that I received, it was delicious. The only thing I would want to moan about is being given a butter knife to cut into my food, it was so blunt and useless that it made it a little frustrating at times.
