So lovely to see a village shop with a fantastic range of organic, local and good quality products. We stopped here for some provisions on our glamping trip and the staff were very friendly as well. Would definitely stop by again if we are in the area!

Today Patrick and I went for a coffee and a bite to eat from here. We had initially tried to do the same at the Kirkstile. Low staff numbers meant that the pub was closed until 3pm and no food was served from then until 5.30pm.We made a good choice as the cafe garden was open again. Nice quadrangle with chairs and tables behind the shop. Pleasant toilet with baby changing facilities too. The birds eating fat balls provided entertainment in this peaceful location. The Americanos were very good and both the ham sandwich (made by Lindsay's butchers in Cockermouth) and the chocolate Tiffin were excellent. Total cost £9.20.Worth a visit in my opinion.

Lovely local village shop selling great selection of local and well known brands. Had a superb oat milk latte.

·

Lovely little shop with nice coffee, bread, cakes and local produce. Friendly chap serving too.

Wonderful local shop and cafe, wide selection of tea and coffee. Right on the sea 2 sea cycle route. They call themselves the shed with a view and what a view it is. Customer toilet, tap to refill water bottles, even tyre pressure pump. Well done.

A perfect storm of local produce, gifts and proper coffee! Make no mistake, this is not a your typical village store. It sells exactly what you need whether your on holiday or a local resident. And at times things you didnt know you needed untill you walked in. You will often find us in their garden round the back having a hot drink and a piece of the days selection of bakes while the kids punch another ice cream in thier face.

Fantastic local shop, my partner and I stayed in cottages just up the road from this shop. After a long drive from London it was great to be able to walk to a local shop, and what a treat it was, local produce which tasted fantastic, great quality and a chance to invest local businesses. On our final night we asked the shop to order in some meat for dinner and they were happy to oblige I am so looking forward to sampling the lamb they ordered from the butcher for us. I will be sad to leave Lorton and the chance to shop in such a fantastic village gem. We hope to be back.

Great find, lovely scones and pies, not to mention coffee or ice cream to set you up for Whinlatter pass. Happy to refill water bottles. Nice seating area around the back.
