The old village school converted into a fantastic tearoom. The soup, sandwiches and cake were amazing. And super friendly service as well.

Our server Alisa was very nice and cheery. Had some great ice cream.

Visited here twice. Lovely friendly staff on both occasions. Cakes are enormous and choice for all. Good selection of cards to buy too.

Lovely place, full of interesting paintings and gifts. Excellent food and always a cheery word from Mark, the proprietor

A really bright, airy, warm and well laid out tea room offering a good range of nutritious and well presented meal options. I had anexcellent mozzarella and cranberry panini accompanied by a lovely pot of leaf tea. Welcoming and friendly couple who take great pride in what they do. Definitely scheduled for a return visit very soon.

Everything about this tea room is brilliant! Décor, food, coffee, staff, location, and arts & crafts for sale. Sitting by the woodstove on a winter’s day was peaceful and super comfortable! Can’t wait till we visit the area again.

Just love Mae's Tea Room! The food is delicious & all home made, wonderful, relaxed, ambience. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you! We have a 3 year old plus a dog and nothing is too much trouble. Been many times now, it's my favourite!😊

Delicious cream tea and what a lovely place to have it. Restored victorian school and a galery with fantastic view.Free car park for few cars. Seats inside or outside. Great service (it can get busy there). We picked the place randomly and were not disappointed.Great stop if you hiking around or on the way from lakes.

Stopped at this lovely place for lunch. Set in a Victorian school. Very spacious and modern, child friendly. Sandwiches, soup and baked potatoes are amongst some of the food offerings. We were made to feel very welcome. The lady who served us spoke kindly to my children and offered them crisps and cucumber with their sandwiches rather than salad and coleslaw. Lovely experience would definitely visit again.

Probably the warmest and most sincere welcome we've had during our stay in The Lakes. Good food, reasonably prices. And tea from tea leafs - not bags! Who does that anymore. Set in an old school house (closed 1991) lots of locally made gifts on show for sale.
