Maryport Tandoori in Allerdale

I was pleasantly surprised to find a good quality tandoori place in Maryport. The restaurant is clean and kept well, the owner personally attended to us with great conversation. We love starters and order a selection with a suggested curry special from the menu. A great selection of food and drink

Absolutely amazing food!! I would travel out of my way to get it, incredible specials and niche dishes. They have a crazy amazing special secret yoghurt dip and we took home pots of it! Staff were also wonderful, welcoming and charming.Gorgeous walk over from anywhere local too.

Very nice food at a good price. Portion size was very big so you will not go hungry. Good range on the menu. A decent curry house in North Cumbria.

First impressions, staff are welcoming and friendly, cosy surroundings,the food being served to other customers looked lovely . The chef knows how to cook a madras 😉 the meat thali was enough for 2 if you have extra rice or nan bread. Good portion sizes , had enough food for a takeaway doggie bag. Would highly recommend

Very friendly staff and great portions so a fair price. We had a takeaway. All beautifully cooked but found it spoilt by the chicken tika masala which was so sweet that it almost wasn’t a curry at all which was a huge disappointment.

Warm welcome, super friendly staff, great information about chosing from the menu, amazing food and dining experience. Cannot fault Ali and his team, who delight in giving their best time after time after time. Very deserving of their excellent reputation.

Ali and Jewel were very friendly and welcoming, we felt right at home. The food was piping hot, not too spicy but very tasty, absolutely delicious. What a feast we had, we couldn't finish it all so they put what we decided to take with us in takeaway tubs. Wish we had explored further afield sooner and found this gem of a restaurant, but unfortunately this was last night of our holiday down the road 20 minutes in Silloth. The food is fantastic in this off the beaten track place. Efficient friendly service and very generous portions. The food is very tasty and there's plenty to take home with you if you can't finish it (like me!). It's a surprising little gem in the crown if Maryport
