Pack Horse Inn in Allerdale

Excellent find! A hidden gem. Warmly welcomed my husband and I plus our large dog. Atmosphere, food and pub overall, all spot on! Well worth a visit.

Fantastic place to have a nice drink and a nice chat with friends and family. Staff were lovely and welcoming from when we first came in to when we left.

Had a wonderful evening here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Chelsea was warm and engaging, she gave our dogs treats and told us about the history of the local area. Great pub and would highly recommend!

I had a great time there while I was travelling around England, I stayed a couple times there for beer, diner and writing : the team is super nice, the beer is fresh and good (and there's enough choice for everyone). The fish and chips is a KILLER, and the decor warms the place up.Will definitelly return if I am to go back to Keswick.Cheers from the Dizzy Blonde !

Lovely cozy pub down one of the alleys off the main street in Keswick. Very clean, warm & inviting. The ale I had was nice & fruity & I had something from the early bird menu (12-2.30pm), which is quite a bit cheaper than during normal dining times. The battered chicken burger was delicious & the chips (fries for our US cousins) I think were triple cooked. Probably the best chips I've ever had.There's a restaurant upstairs, split onto two open floors but I can't comment on the food served there as I didn't have any.Staff were really nice. Over all a very good place to have a bite & a pint if you're in Keswick.

Ordered 2 meals for us. Mine sent back as veg cold and gammon luke warm. Second attempt the veg was hot, I suspect microwaved to extinction, based on the lack of taste. The gammon was hot but overdone with burnt edges, a bit beyond so called char grilled. The pineapple looked good but the reversed side revealed it had been burnt, welll beyond char grilled. On a positive the chips and beer were good. But expensive for chips and beer.

In my opinion the best pub in Keswick. Good range of well kept real ales. Food is top notch with generous portions at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere.

Lovely Inn just off the main square selling excellent Robinson's real ale. Very popular pub with good pub food. Seating can be found over 3 levels. Has a lovely old world pub charm.

Disappointing for such a fantastic foodie area. Runner beans overcooked. Carrots dry and undercooked. Instant mash, instant gravy. Chipolatta curl instead of Cumberland. Everything was wrong.

Just off the main high Street so not quite so busy. Super friendly and pleasant staff and the food was very good. Big compliments to the chef. Highly recommend.
