Ritson's @ the Castle in Allerdale

Me and my Dad recently spent a few days in a campsite down the road from this pub, we went there for dinner everynight. Lovely friendly staff, amazing food. Highly recommended

Fantastic old oldey worldey pub at the end of a single track road winding down through the valley heading towards Scafel Pike. The landlord was very welcoming and the woodburner was refuelled regularly. A welcome break between climbing hills and traveling onward

This bar they serve a grilled Hallomi and roasted pepper salad dish that is very tasty, I love the taste of the roasted peppers they melt in your mouth with a mixture of other vegetables and Hallomi, I also ordered the Mediterranean vegetable pasta with sweet garlic and basil olive oil, it was delicious, but I think it would be much better for me If the amount of olive oil is less, because it is a little green for me and I asked for an orange juice.The staff are very friendly, you can see the smile on their faces, besides when we got our order quickly, sanitizer is provided, no need to wear masks but there is a plastic partition between the table, this is a good way to maintain social distance.But it is a nice bar to visit and eat.

Fantastic pub - incredible food, very generous portions, and great beer selection. Vegetarian options were good too!It's pretty much the only pub in the area, but despite that they have a fantastic level of service, food, and drinks.

Friendly staff, lovely views and great location. Food quite overpriced though. Stopped for lunch and wanted something like soup which was on the outside menu and when we got inside there was confusion over menus as the one outside isn't same as inside 🤷‍♀️ so ended up with hot bbq chicken sandwich at £12.95. Portions were big but perhaps serving less for a little less would be better?

£4.50 a pint , okay pub nice location .. but got some cheesy chips from the “bistro” see photo.

Situated in one of the most picturesque parts of the country. Ritson's bar has a lovely outdoor seating area. Some really nice local ales and imported lagers available on tap. A perfect stop after a long day in the fells.

This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been, eaten and stayed. While doing 8 Peaks Challenge the staff have been wonderful and so accommodating. I would recommend this for anyone who is a foodie or fell lover THIS IS THE PLEACE!!!
