Fabulous Sunday lunch. When your taste buds just fancy a proper Sunday roast, this is the place to go. Large portion of beautifully cooked food, with meat so tender it just melts in the mouth. Everything about the meal was faultless and there's a warm welcome too. We didn't book and got a table but it was busy so I'd recommend booking if you don't want to be disappointed.

The evening of Storm Barra. After a treacherous journey and (so we thought)the one dog friendly pub we knew of was closed due to a power cut, we were advised to drive to here. We felt like the nativity and finally there was room at the inn! They were abbot to close as they had also had a power cut but Diana and Keith could not have made us feel any more welcome. The food was out of this world, extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even a bowl of water was given to my dog and she was fussed over whilst we ate.It was so good we went back the next night!! 😊🐾We will be back again xx

Great welcome, comfortable accommodation and good food. Well placed for the western Lakes. An excellent stay, thanks very much!

Warm and friendly hosts, cosy real fire, good choice of wines & beers that don't break the bank. Very christmassy too. Definitely recommended.😊

Dropped in after a hike around Ennerdale Lake. It was very quiet, helpful and friendly landlady. The food was served quickly despite 3 parties arriving at the same time. The food was tasty and well presented.

Staff were helpful and friendly, the young lad working in the evening worked his socks off. The rooms were nice, the pub was pleasant, sadly the beer selection and quality wasn't the greatest. First stop on our coast to coast walk, did it's job. Place seemed a little tired, but clean and tidy. Nice enough.

Went twice whilst on holiday. First time couldn't fault it, all food was amazing! Second time some chips probably refried were too hard to eat, and the pasty was soft and underdone, we didn't say anything as the staff are working so hard and can't do enough for you so we put it down to how busy they were that day due to it being a weekend. A lovely place, good atmosphere, and well worth a stop off. No children's menu to look at but just ask as they have options available for kids.

Visited this weekend and had lovely meals here. Portion size and quality is so good. Super friendly service with a smile. Diana also suggested places to visit while we were in the area. Shame we were only staying for two nights as we never had the opportunity to try the desserts as were too full from the main course. Would definitely recommend going here if you can.
