This a great combination of walkers bar and a drinking place for the locals in the village. The staff are open and welcoming, the food is tasty and the rooms are comfortable. It is also very child and dog friendly.

Gem of a pub with amazing views in the middle of nowhere. Bit of an Aladin's Cave with various rooms, one with a real fire. Also has accommodation so might go back and stay one day.

Soup was nice, had to send my pork chop back wasn't cooked properly, even when I got my replacement one, fat wasn't rendered down still pale and jelly like, not nice. Had to wait and my husband had already eaten his meal !! Sticky Toffee pudding was nice

An amazing little pub that's tucked out the way. Food was delicious, staff were really friendly and welcoming. Recommended by a good friend and did not disappoint at all.

Where is the six star button, having been walking in the area for a week and dropping in for the odd post walk beer we decided to book Sunday lunch, and it was just perfect, from the moment we arrived and until we dragged ourselves away as the light was fading it was just the perfect Lakes Sunday lunch, service was spot on, the young girl waiting on was so efficient, excellent pint of beer and wine, but the icing on the cake was the three roast lunch, all meats cooked to perfection, roast n mash lovely veg and a whopping homemade Yorkshire pudding, you forget how good when done this well Sunday lunch is. We booked our next visit whilst still sat at the table, it was that good.

Excellent drinks, meal and more drinks post Catbells. Service exemplary; friendly, relaxed, attentive and helpful. Steak and ale pie delicious, Cumberland sausage pleased the good lady wife muchly and the kid loved her scampi. Recommended.

A lovely pub with great service (especially from Annabelle when we ran late). Good wholesome food. I had the leak and potato soup followed by the steak and ale pie. I couldn't manage the sticky toffee pudding but my daughter said it was good. Good selection of beers and incredible views.

Lovely dog friendly pub with ok food. A mixed bag, Pie and chips felt basic (slab of pie, some chips, done) where the scampi salad was much more, and presented nicely with garnish etc. beers were lovely and the pub cat Princess rules the bar!
