Visited here this evening, lively pub with really nice ambience. The staff were welcoming and friendly, very helpful with both our orders and adjusting our food to our tastes. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Can't complain at all, had a lively evening and a great feed.

We stayed over in Aikton and thought we’d try out the local pub! We couldn’t recommend it more. One of the nicest places we’ve ate during our stay in the North Lakes. We went for a Sunday lunch, the meat was to die for and the home made brownie was great. The staff were friendly and very welcoming, the owner came over for a friendly chat! we will definitely be stopping here for food next time we visit the lakes!

Where do I startWe stayed over in our campervan and we were made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived by Wendy and the teamAbsolutely nothing was too much troubleWe had food twice that was freshly prepared and absolutely beautiful we were lucky enough to have been there while there was live entertainment ( baldy Holly fantastic) and a great night was enjoyed by allWendy has only just had this place for a month and the locals have nothing but praise and we can see whyI read a couple of reviews complaining about hand written menus etc ( get a grip your not eating the bloody menu ) opening a new business takes timeAll I can say is that this is a hidden gem of a pub and we will definitely be back thanks for making our stay so enjoyable and we will see you very soonLisa and Jimmy

We used to eat here from time to time it was lovely food every time. Sadly it has taken a turn for the worse with the new owner. The menu was written across several pages with a black marker pen on a clipboard I have honestly never seen anything like it in my life we noticed another couple who came in after us were trying not to laugh whilst reading it. When our order was taken it was the old lady who worked for the last lot that had the pub she was her usual unhappy non welcoming chewing chewing gum self I feel a smile would result in her face falling apart. Then the meal came it honestly was the worst meal I have ever been served on arrival though it did look ok ish. But looks can be deceiving. All I can say is DONT GO!!!!!! Please come back previous owners please

we had a meal there on Monday it was excellent. The batter on the prawns was crisp and light. The chicken was really tasty and the gammon steak and pineapple was excellent. At the moment it is only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Sure that will change after 19th July. The staff were really friendly
